This is going to be a close contest between these two. Currently:

    CR (13) - OHMSS (15)
  • OHMSS. More epic...a stunning John Barry score. Superb direction by Peter Hunt. Great performances by the supporting cast...Daniel Craig is the better actor...but OHMSS is the better film...

Two of the best. Tough contest. CR for me, I love it.

My two favourites. Tough choice, man. Tough choice.

Casino is a better movie, but OHMSS takes my ticket as a better Bond movie.

What a toughie for a change. I love both of these films. But at the end of the day I like OHMSS that little bit more.

OHMSS is my third but CR my second, so CR.
My only problem with OHMSS is Lazenby, even if I don't think his performance was totally flawed, it wasn't perfect.

As has already been said, tough choice, both excellent films. But I'll have to go with OHMSS, if for no other reason than the excellent ski chase scenes.

Well, at least we have a competitive battle of two good films.

In the battle of films where Bond had his heart broken, I will go with Casino Royale becasue Vesper's father didn't knock her out.

Well with a name like Vesper her father might as well have.
  • Peter Hunt waited quite a long time for his moment in the sun, and he didn't waste it. Imagine what he could have achieved with an in-form Sean Connery.

    OHMSS

20-15, OHMSS has taken the lead, what a surprising turn around.

Why do I all of a sudden feel like I'm commentating a horse race?

Hahaha! Thanks for the updates, I really appreciate it. And yes, this has been a surprising turn-around, unfortunately...... :-<

    Tough choice.

I will go with OHMSS because it has that Fleming magic but CR is top five gilt edged Bond. Best Bond for twenty years.

Casino Royale without a doubt. The best movie in the series, closely followed by QoS.

Definitely OHMSS . Great performances from all including George Lazenby and Diana Rigg (fresh from The Avengers TV show) . Daniel Craig belongs back at The Old Vic Theatre in 'HurlyBurly' (a play he appeared in ,in 1998) . Daniel is a good actor but he has a weak high pitched 'mincing' kind of voice more suited to his Theatre 'luvvies'. Even an extreme emphasis on Gym workouts can't change this.

22-17, for OHMSS. Will OHMSS take this match's win, or will a resurgence of CR fans rise up against this atrocity and pick the proper Bond film?

This is indeed a tough one but I think OHMSS just edges it for me, you have got DC in CR which is a big factor but Majesty has the best action sequences of any Bond film and also one of the greatest film scores of all time as well as a great script.

The fact that GL also for me does an admirable job as Bond and Rigg is my favourite Bond girl all the greatness of CR is aced by OHMSS for me.

    OHMSS!

I have to say I'm yet to hear the deep mincing voice of DC, I think he probably has one of the best voices of any Bond at least it's not some transatlantic drawl and Connery doesn't get off lightly, up till TB he was fine but there are parts YOLT he sounds like a Glaswegian Brickie. Dalton turns nothern in LTK, Moore is fine enough, no I think DC sounds english and has a great commanding voice so must disagree with such a claim.

OHMSS an atrocity, no PB era now that is a an atrocity, I don't think you can really be a Bond fan if you think such rubbish.

We can count, and we definitely don't need a recap every single vote. Just saying.

Actually, I thank you very much for keeping score @Agent, it is very much appreicated, so I'm with you on that. Thanks again! As we can see, it seems that OHMSS has beaten CR by a surprisng 8 vote margin. Ehh...what a shame. Oh well, on to the next round!

It'll be an showdown between two Moore movies with:

The Spy Who Loved Me vs. Moonraker

So glad OHMSS won that last round. Both are excellent movies and it's one of the best vs matches of the competition.

Anyway for this round, TSWLM gets my vote.

Neither of them are truly superior Bond films but I'll give it to The Spy Who Loved Me. I think TSWLM has more of a constant tone and is a better put together film overall. I always feel bad for Moonraker, though. Up until that awful cable car fight, the only blemish Moonraker had was that Bondola. The rest of the first half was one of the best first halves ever in a Bond film...Jaws falling in love with Goldie Locks began the giant spiral downward however. A true shame there.

    14. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) - 7/10
    15. Live and Let Die (1973) - 7/10
    16. Quantum of Solace (2008) - 6/10
    17. The World Is Not Enough (1999) - 6/10
    18. Diamonds Are Forever (1971) - 5.5/10
    19. Moonraker (1979) - 5.5/10

A close contest but TSWLM just barely edges it out for me.
