Dr. No. After recently re-watching it, I was reminded how great it is, and how stunning Ursula Andress is.

Dr No If Moonraker didn't ruin the Jaws character then I'd like it more, and there are some great moments (the skydiving PTS, the bit when Bond is trapped on the spinny thingy, the fight with Chang, the fight with Jaws on the cable car), I can even get past the whole space thing, but what they did to Jaws was just awful.

I don't really like Dr No that much though. I think it's a bit boring.

MR, even though DN is good. And regarding Ursula Andress, I was in love with her when I was 12.
• DR. NO as in NO contest. Only DAD is worse than Muckraker.

Okay this one is a complete no brainer for me. Dr. No tops Moonraker in every regard with the exception of "number of minutes spent in outer space."

4. Dr. No (1962) - 9/10
5. Thunderball (1965) - 8.5/10
6. The Living Daylights (1987) - 8.5/10
7. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) - 8.5/10
8. GoldenEye (1995) - 8/10
9. You Only Live Twice (1967) - 7.5/10
10. License to Kill (1989) - 7.5/10
11. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) - 7/10
12. Octopussy (1983) - 7/10
13. For Your Eyes Only (1981) - 7/10
14. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) - 7/10
15. Live and Let Die (1973) - 7/10
16. Quantum of Solace (2008) - 6/10
17. The World Is Not Enough (1999) - 6/10
18. Diamonds Are Forever (1971) - 5.5/10
19. Moonraker (1979) - 5.5/10

DN for reasons of it's a better movie. This also puts the score at 8-3 in DN's favor.

It was harder than I first imagined but Doctor No wins this round

At least bond is serious, keeps his feet on the ground, and no embarrassing return of a henchman. Joseph Wiseman makes for a very good adversary too, and it has the lovely and exciting Andress instead of a cardboard, banal, Chiles as main Bond lady

There's more action in Moonraker and that it keeps the interest but that's not everything in a Bond film, therefore I went with Doctor No

This is gonna sound crazy but I enjoy Moonraker more. It was the very first Bond movie I ever saw and has alot of centimental value to me.

MOONRAKER!

Bond Himself: Tough one, but I say Sean Connery here because I've always felt that Roger wasn't as good in his fourth as he was with the other six.
Action: Moonraker, no question there!
Locations: Moonraker, no doubt
Music: Once again, Moonraker
Villains: Dr. No- the title villain is better than Drax, and I'll take Professor Dent over the ruined Jaws anyday
Girls: Dr. No, for sure- Honey, Sylvia, and Taro beat the others
Gadgets: Moonraker, though it's not exactly an even match here
Fun Factor: Obviously Moonraker!
Nostalgia: Dr. No, I bought it before Moonraker and watched it many more times

Moonraker takes this hand with 5 categories to Dr. No's four. Though both are below my Top 15 line, I still have found Moonraker to be better than Dr. No in recent viewings. However, both are very close, as shown below.

18. Moonraker
19. Dr. No
(official rankings of as recently)

I vote yes to No.

Unlike MR, what should have been in space made it into space.
• 12-6 Dr.NO obviously........Moonraker is not a Bond movie but science fiction....

H.G. Wells himself would scoff at MR.

Actually they insisted at the time that Moonraker was 'Science Fact'

Codeword for let's try to make a lot of $$$ by cashing off of Star Wars. Way to be original.

And look at how successful they were with it, $200,000,000, six times over the budget for that years release, but of course the idea to send Bond into space is outrageously stupid whichever way you look at it, they took the Star Wars route and the money rolled in as a consequence, a dumb idea in retrospect but I bet they weren't thinking about that as they counted the profits

I wish one of my "outrageously stupid" ideas garnered me $200,000,000.

Anyway, I love both films competing this round but I'm casting my vote for the highly underrated Moonraker.

Dr. No
• Gosh. I was about to write: "mismatch! Throw in the towel! Rog is getting killed out there!" But, Moonraker is making much more of a fight of it than I imagined.

Moonraker is quite a production, and, regardless of its merits as a Bond movie, it is a remarkable achievement on many levels (the Academy Award nomination is testament to the special effects).

All that being said, I can't possibly vote against Dr No
