    I figured. Otherwise, the article would've openly stated it, or at least McLusky's signature would've been there under the drawing.

    I tried researching this, but so far I've seen only the mention of it being commissioned by Fleming, and no mention of the artist's name.

    I'd love to see the unveiling of this mystery. Been researching this myself ever since I got introduced to the novels (shortly after Quantum of Solace came out) and there's been no results on my end, either. Which is why I thought I'd ask people here if they knew.

    This is true.

    When the deal for the Express strips was being discussed Fleming commissioned the above picture as his impression of what Bond looked like but McClusky thought it was a bit too wet and produced the more rugged image that resembled Sean somewhat. But no idea at all who actually did the drawing.

    To be honest that picture looks more like how I imagine Sherlock Holmes.

    I would say you are. Only about a third of the theme songs were done by chart toppers at the time. Most others were more obscure acts.

    Fair enough. I will say with Craig though...

    1. Chris Cornell was pretty big around 2006.

    2. Jack White and the white stripes were popular and so was Alicia Keys.

    3. Adele was the most popular artist in 2012.

    4. Sam Smith was the most popular artist in 2015.

    It seems there's a little bit of a pattern with Craig's bond films..

    If it follows this trend then Rag n Boneman.

    I believe the original drawing was by Frank Hampson who would go on to create Dan Dare, I believe he worked on Daily Express comic strip for a number of years around the same time.

    If I had to guess I would say it was Parker's work, just by the boxy Deco style of drawing and shading.

    Look at Parkers drawing of Sexton Blake compared to the Bond Hogey type drawing

    If Sean Connery changed his mind during the Roger Moore era and wanted to play Bond again would the producers or United artist dump Roger for Sean even tho Rogers films were way more successful?

    Connery was asked back for both MR and FYEO, before Moore.

    I've never heard that either...why the hell would they want Connery back when Moore just had a smash hit with TSWLM ?

    Yea it doesn’t make sense the producers would want Connery back after TSWLM, or MR when they were both the highest grossing Bond films at the time with Moore

    Rumors are Connery was, besides Hiddleston and Hardy, one of the possible Craig replacements for Bond 24.

    Possible plot hole in Spectre, bond is captured in the end of the movie and then he breaks free killing the two men outside of MI6. Obviously takes their gun but on the boat he has his walther PPK.. So they captured him and didn't take his walther? Weird?
