    I quite enjoy all of those films with very little reservation.

    You must be catching them on Encore @Birdleson. I've recently seen Die Another Day and Goldeneye and I have to say I have been letting them slip more than they deserve. I can't foresee Die Another Day staying on the bottom for me either.

    Overall I felt it lagged a bit, Daniel seemed bored with the obviously clichéd nod-to-the-past plot, a lot of the dialog seemed awkward and stilted or forced, and Waltz while an actor of great caliber didn't do it for me as Blofeld.

    @Birdleson Excellent to see someone else on these boards showing DAD a little love. Brosnan's best performance in the role. Regardless of how awful much of the latter half is (primarily the 3rd act) it is paced like a bullet also. And there's none of that TWINE soap opera nonsense.

    When in the proper mood, I can have fun with most any Bond movie. They don't all have to be FRWL or TLD or CR, nor should they be. ;)

    The Dalton films would have ranked higher had they been better directed and had higher production standards. Shame really.

    SP would have ranked higher had it not been half a$$ed.

    TND and DAD are straight forward Bond films with all the boxes checked and they are what they are.

    Very true @mcdonbb. They don't try to be anything more than out and out action vehicles, and on that front, they succeed, although the former is much better at it than the CGI infested latter imho.

    I would have considered TND for my top ten (despite it being very derivative of the superior TSWLM) if only there was more romance (location wise as well as physically) in it rather than pure action. The female leads were not quite my cup of tea (either of them, despite Hatcher wearing that black dress to Bond's hotel) and so sadly it can never crack that lauded ranking for me.

    I'm pretty sure that in 2002 when DAD came out, people would have laughed at you for placing it last too... because the mentality of a Bond forum is always going to be in support of the newest Bond flick. I think you were treated unfairly Birdleson, Spectre definitely was a huge disappointment and I see no issue with placing it last. I just tend to dislike some others more, but Spectre was no doubt a mediocre film at best.

    SP is an odd experience for me. I was so hungry for a traditional film that I ate it up and enjoyed it but once it settled I realized I needed an antacid.

    The way is assess DAD is to remember the time period. This was post 9/11 and no one in Hollywood knew quite how to handle action films. Didn't want too grounded too serious so went for fantasy.

    Still I'm not denying the embarrassing CGI and Halle Berry.

    This is my most recent ranking. I'm not happy with it, though. I know DN is too low, so a rewatch is due. Same with TWINE and GE (used to crack my top ten). I think TSWLM and even FRWL might overtake FYEO. We'll see how things go.

    Too lazy to change numbers right now but shove TB in between DN and TND. Yes it's a classic and a significant film but wow does it meander on. Still very enjoyable and Bond at his height.
