    I was in the camp that always enjoyed Quantum, so I've been calling it underrated for a while now; in "professional" rankings I see online, it almost always ends up in the bottom five, which I strongly disagree with. I do believe it to be Craig's weakest outing so far, but not a bad Bond film. Yes, it has its problems, but for me it's better than several other Bond films.

    Most of the "professional" rankings I've read haven't been done by devout Bond fans.

    In any case, the last 3 posts confirmed my statement. Among Bond fans (at least on these boards) QOS is hardly underrated. I don't mind it, in fact I'd say overall I enjoy it, but I definitely think it's one of the worst Bond films.

    I'm here to give it a bit of a berating and keep things in check ;) Carry on gentlemen.

    Nope. I saw the extended cut that featured Bond brutally show Carver the smackdown. My favorite Brosnan moment too. :D

    The Kaufman Kut is great for pressed-for-time Bond viewing.

    Watching QoS now. Still hating the fast editing of action sequences. Hating that stupid magic table at MI6 too.

    If I'm understanding the climax correctly, a single car running into a wall blew up the entire hotel?

    The hotel was powered entirely by fuel cells. That's why the collision was able to start the detonation. It wasn't explained (like many things due to the writer's strike) and so looked stupid.

    I think FYEO is my favorite ski-chase because it's get ebbs and flows in the action.

    Goldfinger My overall opinion of the film has not changed, though despite having the Bond50 for a few years only just watched Goldfinger all the way through on Bluray. One positive I will give the film, it does look visually stunning.

    Casino Royale- It's still fantastic. Daniel Craig is the driving force behind everything here but the rest of the cast is fantastic as well. The ending does drag on for a little too long. Even all of the "action" in the sinking house finale. However, this is a very minor complaint as this remains one of my faves.

    From Russia With Love- Obviously, an absolute classic. It was an interesting moment in time for the series, right before they went "all in" with some of the more over the top antics of Goldfinger. I'm still not crazy about the gypsy camp fight but everything else is pretty much superb. I didn't even mind the tacked on ending this time.

    The Man With The Golden Gun - This remained a frustrating watch for me. While there are some nice moments to be found within, the whole thing is a just a huge missed opportunity in my opinion. I usually don't watch this one unless I'm doing a Bondathon so it was good to have a refresher, in a way. I will admit that there were a couple of times that the Sheriff made me grin.

    I'm pretty sure THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN will always linger around the bottom of my personal ranked list, but my enjoyment of it has grown slightly over the years. Which is always nice. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it last couple times and it moved out of my bottom spot :)

    Definitely a missed opportunity overall and Hamilton's weakest Bond film in my opinion.

    Oh that Im aware of. Im just fairly sure that hydrogen doesnt work that way. Itd be a pretty poor design for a hotel. But then again, someone built it in the middle of the Bolivian desert, so we're not dealing with geniuses.

    That's a good point that I did not think about. Surely a hydrogen powered hotel should be able to withstand a basement impact by a car....Unless the car's explosion and heat triggered something.....oh well....we go the box ticked finale explosion.

    Just back from watching OHMSS at the Prince Charles Cinema in the West End. Been showing the Bond films every Sunday since the beginning of January. It was the biggest turnout so far for people attending. And applause at the end of the film. Amazed at the love for George's Bond movie. I even saw 2 people wearing Billy Reid peacoat which made me smile. It was a blast. :)

    It wasn't great to be honest but seeing that movie (it's in my top 3) on the big screen again was awesome. Might never get that chance again. Trying to get there every couple of weeks so will be back for LALD.

    That's funny @Birdleson. I'm sure @BAIN123 was with a couple of other guys I spoke to in the cinema. One of the other guys was wearing the BR peacoat. Unless I'm going mad. :)

    Yes I saw it last night too. Really good seeing it on the big screen but I also felt the picture quality wasnt that great (it's better on my blu ray). The sound though was excellent and I got a real buzz when Laz puts on those ski's and Barry's score kicks in.

    It was fun seeing it for the first time with a big audience. They laughed at the funny parts and even some unintentionally funny moments too (Laz being knocked out and Blofeld saying "you'll learn to love chickens").

    The ski scenes looked really good as did the establishing shots of Piz Gloria.

    OHMSS was my last Bond film viewing as well, but at home on BluRay. The film to me is absolutely fantastic and deserves all the praise it gets. Savalas and Rigg are phenomenal, and the movie has everything you'd want from a Bond film IMO, even if everything includes George Lazenby. Having said that, even his performance I really enjoy. As has been said before here by others, I think he does handle the more vulnerable moments really well; no worse than any other Bond actors would I think.

    Laz isn't actually that bad. Ok he's pretty bad early on and it doesn't help he's dubbed, but he gets better and is excellent with the physical stuff.

    Watching it again last night though reminded me how truly GREAT Rigg and Savalas were indeed.
