    Yeah sure, Bond (Dalton) was flying a plane over the Arctic Sea when some thug jumped all over him. Bond thought he was alone aboard. As the plane crash into the frozen sea, they are still lock in a fight to the death. I remember seeing Bond fighting as the cold water made his way into the cockpit, the blue Arctic Sea clearly visible through the plane windows.

    As I woke up, I wondered how he would have reach civilisation with no plane, no boat, no food, nothing to drink and badly injured. Let me tell you, it was a hell of a good movie!

    It sounds like a great movie, from your description already better than Die Another Day. I don't suppose you know what the title is?

    That Komodo dragon fight sequence, and that entire scene in the casino in general is pretty impressive and fun. Some of the camera movement is really cool as well.

    I like casino scene for the most part, but I have trouble with the CGI Komodo dragons. I would prefer Bond stay away from CGI as much as possible, particular when the scene/stunt in question is paying homage to a classic practical stunt, with actual animals and real danger.

    The Komodo dragon wasn't cgi.

    I saw LALD recently and it's night and day between the crocodile sequence in that movie and the SF one. Sure, the SF one was not that obvious, until you watch LALD. LALD is so much more real. CGI is not quite there yet for the discerning although it's improved a lot. It still appears unreal if scrutinized. For me, there's a hint of dullness in the colours & presentation (like for example the distance shots of Silva's Island) that is more apparent on Bluray.

    What I love about the earlier years of 007 in the cinema is the fantastic stunts we got to see, that was cinema that should be applauded and it feels realer than most CGI sequences. In fact these days you actually wonder if the stunt was actually done or just simulated. [which why for me the scene in DAD of Brosnan done in obvious CGI, is so offensive. Goodbye great stunts and welcome in a new era of fakeness].

    The trainstunts in OP are unsurpased by anything the new era of 007 has to offer, as a fan you know the costs for that scene. ANd it looks so bloody great too.

    I enjoy the entire casino sequence a lot in Skyfall, including the komodo dragons (which are truly dangerous in real life). I have no problem at all with them being CGI.

    So much about Bond in casinos is good. I also love Bond's repartee with Eve throughout the casino, as well as of course the memorable and very well acted scenes with Severine.

    And all so gorgeously filmed. :)

    The whole movement of the actors as they related to the camera in some of those shots, as well as the photography was absolutely excellent.

    You know what I really miss and want to see again. The horrifying gurgling scream from the villains as they fall to their death. It used to be a staple of the old Bond films and we don't hear it any more. I really enjoyed it and miss it. It's best epitomized at the 1:10m mark in the clip below (from the MR pretitles). Horrifying but comedic as well.

    I know it won't make a comeback because we've gone all serious and all, but I'd love to see it back.

    @bondjames, I'm with you on that one. I wish someone could do an edit of the Freefall sequence from Quantum of Solace and put that scream in when Craig and Camille are falling. =))

    No, actually I've never seen the making of. I'll take a look this weekend. I'm sure it must have been difficult to get that shot right.

    There was so much tension in that whole sequence. The SF one, while a tribute, did not have the same impact for me.

    There's literally no comparison. The LALD sequence is one of the best and most memorable in the franchise.
