Let's not forget one thing about Mr White: he's been introduced almost ten years ago at a time when Blofeld's rights were not secured.

Kevin McClory died in November 2006, six days after the premiere of Casino Royale. That's a strange coincidence of dates in itself, given what we now know about where Craig's tenure is going.

It's not out of the question that by the time CR was being made, the producers knew there was a very strong likelihood they would be able to reacquire the rights to Blofeld, SPECTRE and some unforeseen point during Daniel Craig's tenure.

This is pure, wild speculation of course, but there is a chance that Mr White's name was chosen with that future possibility in mind.

Don't forget MGW is a lawyer and a screenwriter. :)
[I might add that in the novels SPECTRE took over member of the then defunct SMERSH, and RAHIR and/or TARTAR, the last two being organizations founded by Blofeld before SPECTRE, sort of proto-SPECTRE you might say. I think that is what Quantum may be.

In one of the early TSWLM drafts, the young guard kills off SPECTRE and takes it over. Are we about to see QUANTUM face the same fate?

In any case, it is a good news that White is returning. He's a menacing and enigmatic character played by one of today's best character actors. Wouldn't QoS have benefited from following him a bit longer?

    Who is "the young guard"?

Brady, they may ... however, it will be apparently a Blofeld to fit these times, "modernized." Look at how Benedict does not resemble the classically described (or filmed) Sherlock. As long as this new Blofeld is different from the past Blofelds and does not in any way resemble what has become a parody (Craig is keenly aware of that, as I am sure Mendes and all of EON are) ... I'm happy.

A bit off topic, but I think Benedict is pretty Holmesian in his features. He has the face of a Holmes, far more so than even the best of the best, King Jeremy. Downey is far from Doyle's descriptions, as is Jonny Lee Miller.

Anyway, back to Blofeld: I agree with you wholeheartedly. No bald heads and no freaking kitty cats.

Other than being tall and slim, Benedict does not match (appearance wise). Attitude, my yes. Sorry to be off topic. I'm going to PM you.

I have faith that this group (Mendes, EON) will try to be creative and smart with how they make this new Blofeld look.

Right, and Stromburg's giant dining table was actually in the spot where Blofeld's massive disco dance floor was going to be. Can't believe we got cheated out of seeing that one.

I can picture Blofeld moving his hips now...

"Come mister Bond, have a dance with death."

Off topic, but TSWLM would have been so much better had Stromberg been Blofeld. What with the allusion to Tracy, and the Bond girl wanting revenge for the death of her lover, while Bond tries to avoid being murdered by her, at the same time trying to have his own revenge for the very same motivation...

In Casino Royale, at the end, he gets out of his Jaguar and subsequently is shot by Bond. His license plate reads "7843 BB" on the car.

7843 represents a Hebrew lexicon meaning "to destroy, corrupt, pervert". It fits his character.

I found that interesting. The BB is a mystery. I think it could mean "Baron Blofeld". If it does, Mr. White is serious when it comes to his license plate.

Of course this is all nonsense, but I just want to show you all how easy it is to make the "facts" work in your favor.

I am seriously wondering now though if the 7843 is not just a coincidence.

I came to the conclusion that Mr. White may just be the name of his cat. haha

7843BB is hex code for colour named Royal Purple. That's probably a coincide too; it would have been much funnier if they'd used a shade of "white".

I know the 53 on Dimitrios's luggage tag is a nod to Fleming's CR being published in 1953 and the film being released 53 years later in 2006, but I think the producers probably draw the line at hidden messages in numberplates!

I think Waltz will play the character he is billed to play and EON will not bill the actor they have got to play Blofeld. Thus, he is revealed near the end of the film and till that moment we have a guessing game.

Example, Blofeld is revealed and it is Mark Strong or Kevin Spacey or Michael Shannon.

I think Mr White will side with Bond in the climatic gun battle.

Yes, Kevin Spacey revealed as ESB in Bond 25. That would be awesome !

Jesper Christensen on new Bond movie: I was allowed to change my role

    From Danish newspaper
    (google translate)

It's not much, actor Jesper Christensen must talk about his role in the upcoming Bond film 'Spectre'. But he reveals that it was 'fornicate fun' to be back on set.

At home we see him on the screen every Sunday in prime time as hippien Thomas with the long hair and loose robes in DR's popular drama series 'heirs' season 2. In Hollywood knows him in a somewhat different role, that of the short-haired villain who always are dressed in suits, Mr. White of James Bond. His name is Christensen. Jesper Christensen.

Playing in the legendary Bond movie is something that very few Danes vouchsafed. To reappear two years later in a sequel is said to be a bit of a sensation. To contribute throughout the three films, is unheard of.

Nevertheless, it is precisely what the 66-year-old actor Jesper Christensen can write on the CV when the new Bond film 'Spectre' gets its world premiere on November 6.

How big Dane's role exactly is whether Mr. White dies or survives for a possible fourth film, you get him not to reveal, as BT meetings actor in a cafe in downtown Copenhagen.

Forget Bond babes - Here is the new Bond car

"Yes, I must not say anything about the new Bond film. Well, I'm done and have made it, I say. And I can say that it was fun. It was damn funny, "reveals the 66-year-old Jesper Christensen.

With his lined face, beard gray now, blue thermal jacket, burgundy-orange sneakers, kind eyes and an understated humor that constantly lurking below the surface, looks like he did not immediately prototype of a true Bond villain.

Actually looks like he is not the prototype of any particular and may therefore play an alcoholic in 'The Bench', Norwegian king, Nana's father and hippien Thomas in everything from children's films to von Trier.

    Not boxed

"It's nice that I get used to so many things, it's fortunate for me that I have not been boxed in," he said. Now, seven years after he last pulled in Mr. White costume in 007 movie 'Quantum of Solace', he is again back in what will be one of the world's most talked about films of the year. And although Jesper Christensen does not have to say anything about his role, he says that this third film 'Spectre' personally has been the best Bond experience of them all.

"Yes, the scene was damn fine, and him Sam Mendes (director, Ed.) I think very well about, so it was really fun. He is such a director, I like. He listens and talks and writes about, "laughs arch Copenhagen failed trained educator and never have gone on playwright or theater schools.

    suggest quotes

Yet he has from the beginning of his glorious career always taken its own roles and shaped and directed them and suggested quotes that he felt they should be. Bond film with director Sam Mendes was no exception.

"Yes, the pride knew no bounds when I could sit and suggest lines in English. That I was also very impressed with himself. And then, hey, it was not just propose, but its acceptance. So it was really good. And if so I'll say no more about it, "he remembers suddenly found himself on. With such a gigantic Hollywood machinery, there nemlig high risk for the escape of something out of the movie before the premiere, much to everyone's fears. Therefore also the Dane under strict orders to take all precautions.

See the pictures: The ten hottest Bond babes

"Do not send anything in the mail, and it says 'Jesper Christensen' and a number across every page of the script, so they know where you are leaking something. So they come with 600 lawyers, "he says and adds:

"They are so paranoid, so you have no clue about it. But it is with good reason, for the whole hysteria surrounding this Bond universe is quite massively huge. The web is Bond almost a religion, as many have an opinion. And then they got the stolen their early manuscript in 'Sony-gate' (Sony was subjected to hacker attacks, ed). So I understand that you are paranoid, "he says.

With more than a hundred film and television roles on the CV and many more to come, as well as his directorial debut on five sections of 'heirs', Jesper Christensen a thorough knowledge of the Danish film industry. When asked what we at home can learn from the United States, is his answer:

    Saleable actors

"I do not think there is anything special to learn over there. So, there is always something to learn from the film, but it can also be the new Polish film 'Ida', or the fantastic 'Birdman' as I was inside watching yesterday. So no, there is nothing obvious to learn from them.

In a USA production is also too much to have an opinion and decide, usually producers who must decide this and that. So it can happen that production wastes a lot of time instead of saying 'please just shut up, we should be OK. "

This is because, according to the award-winning actress, along with the Americans generally have harder conditions to make the more offbeat movies.

"Therefore, we can easily get permission to do things that are not obvious facilitate market. We are privileged that there are several million crowns coming easier to budget than if you are American.

If they do not manage to find the actors who are 'field table' (salable) as it is called, a really ugly word, it is no matter whether you have written a completely wonderful and hugely relevant film. It will not be made. And in my book, if the script is not in order, it is also crap. Over there they begin somewhere else, and I think this is the wrong place, "he adds.

So "skidesjovt" ("fun as hell") becomes "fornicate fun"? =)) You've gotta love google translate! :))

    Nevertheless an interesting interview!
It is a small dissapointment that he is already done with filming, and if its true that its only "one scene". I was hoping he would get a slightly bigger role...

Every time I read this title, I read it: "Anyone notice Mr White is black".

Joke aside, I am glad they are going to wrap up the CR-QOS arch with him. He was cruelly underused in QOS, to the detriment of the movie I think.

? The QOS scene is not being included in SP. By cutting that QOS scene where Bond kills White and Hanes, they've kept the possibility of using White in this story, that's all.
