Anyone notice Mr. White is back?

Yep, Wikipedia lists Jesper Christensen as Mr. White in the cast. Does this mean Quantum was really Spectre the whole time?

    We'll find out.

But, yes. Christensen was quoted saying he will be back in a danish article.

I just heard that. So we'll be getting Quantum and Spectre it seems. I liked both Quantum and White, though they've not been used very effectively. Glad to see White is back. He's either soon killed or Blofeld's Bunt I think.

Yeah maybe Quantum and Spectre were really one and the same.

  • Soooo Good! Mr White is great villain/henchman. Liked him in Casino Royale and for me he was one of the better things in Quantum of Solace.
I'm waiting for final showdown between him and 007.

Very much agreed on that - it'll be great to see Mr White returns - he reminds me of the characters you used to get in the older Bond films and that can surely only be a good thing! :)

    I hope this is legit!

I've said it before, even if hes back just to be killed off (and maybe offer up the name of the real organization behind it all), I'm OK with that. It just creates continuity; pretty much linking all of Craig's films.

Yes, I feel strongly that we need closure on this story arc before we move on to other things.

I hadn't even heard about this but yes! That's awesome news. I've always dreamed of a movie where Spectre would be revealed to be the shadow organisation behind Quantum.

I'm going to throw in some nerd stuff here. :P When I teach about quantum physics, I always start with the electromagnetic spectrum. So I often use the words quantum and spectrum in the same couple of sentences. I guess I coupled these two together pretty early on. ;-)

Let's see now. Mr White could have defected to Spectre. Maybe Spectre and Quantum are competitors and one is slowly absorbing the other. Or maybe Quantum was merely Greene's department within Spectre. ;-)

Since they hint at a voice from Bond's past... could it mean Mr White? Would it be that simple? I don't know, but I'm immensely thrilled, much more so than I was three years ago when I heard that the next Bond film was going to be named after a Transformer. ;-)

Perhaps we'll see his deleted scene from QoS as a special feature on the Blu-Ray/DVD release of "Spectre"

One thing to remember Bond has two scores to settle Qauntum and im particular Mr White for the events of Casino and those who put Vesper up to the false ransom that her boyfriend was working for, was this Spectre?

I wonder if White will be revealed as Blofeld. He does have that slimy presence to him.

If they really want to swerve everyone and take a gamble on reavealing him as Blofeld...this might happen. I wouldn't be mad if that's the case tbh

Same here. Before QOS was even released I suspected that he was based on the dialogue of CR. But we shall see.

    "We've got people everywhere."

Florists use that expression. Or is Quantum a division of SPECTRE?

That's what I was thinking. Exciting stuff regardless! With any other people behind the camera I would be worried about them just rehashing old story lines from the Bond canon but with Mendes and company behind it, I have faith they will simply update the basic feel and vibe of the classic 60s Bond without it being tired and repetitive.

I'm glad Quantum isn't being completely thrown away. I'm very curious to see how the film will play out. Had they completely ditched Quantum and went with SPECTRE and Blofeld I think I would have been mad but I'm glad Mr. White is still around like I hoped. It's going to have things for everyone and i really like that. I have faith that B24 will be a wonderful addition to the Bond canon.

I'm sorry Jesper said those negative things about Bond films after QOS ... but hey, Jesper: never say never again, right? ;)

Very happy this character will be back, in small or bigger role. I want Quantum dealt with in a smart way with this film.

The biggest idea that comes to my head that White could be head of Quantum but because of his failures in CR and QoS, he's being taken out of the Picture by Waltz or whoever the villain is and turning Quantum into SPECTRE. I'm very giddy right now.

Oh I think Mr. White gets killed. I hope spectacularly. :)

This right here. When he revealed his involvement separately from the other cast members I suspected this. This talk about Christoph Waltz being Blofeld is just to throw people off I think. It would make sense. Remember when Blofeld was first introduced into the film series in FRWL and Thunderball he wasn't completely revealed only shown "in the shadows" so to speak. I believe the script writers have done a similar treatment this time round with Blofeld, albeit in a different manner. Instead of openly revealing him they've had him under the assumed identify of "Mr. White" for the last two films he was in in preparation for revealing him eventually. I figure the producers knew McClory's estate would eventually sell out which is why they have set it up like this. So instead of having him not completely revealed (either from behind or obscured by something) like in the original movies they put a different spin on it and introduced him as someone completely different until it was time to finally reveal Blofeld after all these years. Kinda like drumming up a moment at the finale in this movie when it is finally revealed and all the diehard Bond fans put their hands to their mouths and say something like "NO WAY HE WAS BLOFELD THIS WHOLE TIME"

I don't think White is Blofeld. If he had been name Mr Blue, then yes, maybe. But I am glad he is back, in whatever capacity. If he is shot dead in the PTS, then the CR story arch is finally completed.

    100% "Yes".

    Double 100% "Yes".

I'd have thought the most obvious scenario is that Quantum were totally destroyed at the end of that film and won't be mentioned at all in SP.

However we all know Mr White escaped and he has simply formed a new alliance with a different organisation.

They didn't bring on Blofeld to kill him in the first film he(or she)'s in. I figure this guy and the other younger fellow on the cast will bite the bullet, so to speak.

This was the best part of any of the Bond 24 reveal for me, and it wasn't even made official at the actual presentation. I have wanted the White/Quantum story to be finished/returned to/resolved for what feels like an eternity now, and to know Jasper is back makes my face hurt from all the smiling. Bond 24 has answered so many of my wishes, including a snowy location for Dan's Bond and a host of new, never before visited Bond locations. That's not even including the amazing new cast and crew members, who look to continue the history the Bond films have had of scoring people of prestige and talent in the industry. This truly is the best Christmas present I could've hoped for.

i like to think that Quantum may end up being the front for an even more sinister organization (Spectre) - and that the link between the two is Mr. White.... the people in Quantum like Greene and Guy Haines report to men like Mr. White - Haines and Greene don't even know who is really pulling the strings (because it's above their pay grade) - White is there like a Supervisor to make sure deals go down... that way, if things do happen to guys like Haines and Greene, and Quantum as a whole - there would be no direct connection back to Spectre, and Quantum could just be left to flounder..... like i said before, in the opera scene in QOS - when the members of Quantum were outed by Bond, they all got up and left. The only one smart enough to stay put was Mr. White - ever the man in the shadows.. he was willing to let them all be had without so much as batting an eyelash..
  • I'm hoping Christoph Waltz is indeed Blofeld. He is such an amazing actor. Perhaps he has White killed to prevent him from revealing secrets about Spectre.

My guess is that Waltz is Blofeld too. A two-time Oscar winner is going to want the juicy part, which is always the villain in Bond films. :)

Unless they pull a bait and switch on us like they did with Bryan Cranston in Godzilla :-q
