Twilight? I stopped reading there. How that can be included and not AVTAK, TLD, YOLT, MR, GF, TB or FRWL, I really don't know.

To be honest I do not believe I ever have heard the music from Twilight, or actively have heard it. So I find it heard to pass judgement on that music based upon my dislike of the books and the movies.

The list is overal US/UK orientated so is limited in its reach as well. There is some really good music on that list and some of it leaves me flabbergasted. As do most lists generally.

what i'm surprised didn't make the list...

    Inception Soundtrack - Hans Zimmer
not that i am a huge Zimmer fan, but the score to Transformers and Twilight is better than this?

    Rocky Soundtrack - Bill Conti
i am really shocked that this is nowhere on this list.

The Village - James Newton Howard
Say what you want about the movie, but the musical score by Howard is outstanding.

Jerry Goldsmith only features once on that entire list. And it isn't even for The Omen.

    Blimey.

This is a strange list, to say the least.

    Some comments:

    - There are at least ten better Bond soundtracks than Skyfall.
    - Since when James Bond theme is a "soundtrack"? In that case why there isn't the "Imperial March"?
    - Inception is generic and doesn't nearly deserves to be on a top 100 list.
    - The Hobbit soundtrack is overrated.
    - Where the hell is The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi? Star Wars a New Hope has a good score but Williams surpassed himself in the sequels.
    - But if by Star Wars they meant the whole saga (which I don't think they did as the mention 1977 as the year), it should have been on #1 spot. I think even Howard Shore would agree.

I don't agree with the actual rankings (Midnight Cowboy and American Beauty should both be top 20, imho), but most of the soundracks in that top 100 belong in the top 100. I'm glad Ennio Morricone's score for The Mission is recognized in the top ten.
