    My biggest issue is getting (usually) 60% of the way through a book, and then I stop for a day or two, and that stretches to a week or two, and then I end up forgetting a lot of tiny details and I don't pick it up again. Damn me.

    Sounds like me. I even do that with newspapers.

    Creasy47 = Thunderfinger: Evil Twins!
    *shudder*

    I am usually reading more than one book at a time, but I do finish them ... eventually. I don't leave a book and not return unless I really find it strongly dissatisfying. But even so, then I usually just skim read to get it done.

    I think @4EverBonded said something, but I only skim read half of it. I aim to read the rest later this summer.

    I always read the following 'books' simultaneously (well, you know what I mean):

    - Manga / Comics, currently at Uncanny X-men Issue 167 (1983). I sometimes take a break for a graphic novel or a shorter and more urgent comic series like Danger Girl. ;-)
    - Science books, neatly compartmentalised in chapters so I can read one chapter at the time when I feel like the mind needs food.
    - The collected fiction of H.P. Lovecraft, so I can read a few stories, put the book down again, and pick it up again after a while.
    - Some novel, by Ian Fleming, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, ... which I usually complete in a few days to avoid losing track of the characters.
    - An informative book on films and filmmaking.

    Some of these I read while on the train. Others late night at home. Others still during the day, ...
  • The Silkworm , by Robert Galbraith (J.K Rowling)

    I just finished reading Alan Dean Foster's novelization of Alien. Has anyone else ever read it? If so, I'd like to share some thoughts. ;-)

    My next book will, logically, be Foster's novelization of Aliens.
