Tie's DO happen man! A few years ago there was a tie with the Critics Choice Awards. Both Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway won in the same year 2008 a Critics Choice Award in the category 'Best Actress'; Anne for 'Rachel Getting Married' and Meryl Streep for 'Doubt'.

A tie IS a tie. But an Oscar win STILL IS an Oscar win. 'Skyfall' wins here the first Oscar for a Bond film since 1966. And after Norman Wanstall won the 'Best Sound' Oscar for 'Goldfinger', we have a second beautiful statue for 'Best Sound' in a Bond film :-). Bravo!

And it's not over yet! A second Oscar win is expected, but first Adele needs to sing her 'Skyfall' in a bit ;-)!

I do hope Adele gets the gong for her song. She deserves it.
  • So far, I must say this edition of The Oscars is one of the best in years.

Could someone please fix the title of this thread, thanks. Getting the category right would be nice even if you don't care about the Oscar.

Not sound mixing, but sound EDITING.

Oh I'm sorry. Are you okay? Did I hurt you? Where did you get your PhD in Oscar?

Javier Bardem should have been nominated for and won best supporting actor.

Yeah... I was thinking the same thing. Her mic seems to be slightly off. And she doesn't seem to passionate about it.

Ironically, the sound mixing on the whole telecast has been off all night. The orchestra has been muffling all night.

I would rename it 'Skyfall' wins Oscar for 'Best Sound Editing'.

By the way, another fantastic Bond tribute. Adele was wunderful. Orchestra was a bit overpowering, but I loved it.

Orchestra overpowering? Could barely hear them. Bland performance.

Thought her vocal should've been higher in the mix. And the orchestra isn't even on-site!
