This is not a troll post. It looks like Daniel Craig is the first Bond actor to be a descendent of the real James Bond, the ornithologist Ian Fleming named his iconic spy after. Several articles had stated this:

By chance, Craig is related to the late Bond through John of Gaunt, the Duke of Lancaster, who is also the son of King Edward III of England. "While we were researching Daniel Craig's family history, we noticed that some of the names and places in his tree resembled names from James Bond's tree. We discovered a fascinating connection between him and the actual bird-watching James Bond through English royalty," says Michelle Ercanbrack, Ancestry.com's family historian.

So yep it means DC

is the decendent of the real Bond:

Congrats DC, you're now the first Bond actor to be related to the bird expert of the same namesake.

What's next are we going to find out DC or one of the former Bond actor is related to the spy that inspired James Bond.

Very curious thing snobbery, but I think Craig, as Bond, wouldn't care less.

    Interesting, indeed.

And in other news, all Craig-not-Bond sites have mysteriously closed down... :-\"

What an odd piece of info. That would mean Craig is also related to both the british and (ex) portuguese royal families? John Gaunt, really? My brain is in a bit of short circuit right now.

John of Gaunt. There is quite a difference between him and the chav mouthpiece radio and TV 'personality'.

I have absolutely no idea who that radio and tv guy is, it was my mistake when I wrote the name.
  • Maybe this means that Craig was always destined to become Bond. :D

    haha,LOL

    :))

I would also be surprised (and shocked) if more research into Craig's ancestry reveal that DC is the descendent of the spy/spies that inspired Bond:

William Stephenson (codename Intrepid): "James Bond is a highly romanticized version of a true spy. The real thing is ... William Stephenson"-Ian Fleming said this on the Sunday Time (Oct 21 1962)

Forest “Tommy” Yeo-Thomas: Historian considered this person the real life James Bond, his adventure parallel some of the adventure in the Bond novels.

If Daniel Craig (or any of the former Bond actors) had their ancestry trace back to one of the real-life spies (like the 2 above) that inspired James Bond, that would be mind-blowing to me.

This would be crazy if proven true! Someone needs to keep researching this.

Just about all of the native English population is related to Edward III in at least one way or another, and also one of the Scottish King Malcolms...
