The film version uses mostly take 3 and cuts to take 4 for the ending while the album uses take 3 with a fade out, because a buzzer started going off in the studio! Maybe a train was coming.

One last, thoroughly geeky question. There are two versions of the bugle call in the track of the same name. Was there any indication on whether one was an alternate of the other, or if perhaps they were meant to be heard at different moments of the scene?

No, they just did two wild takes and we included both. The shorter one is the one used in the film.

I watched MR today and ended up doing something a little tragic and playing in the score on my phone to see the differences! Some of the cuts I hadn’t quite twigged before, like the trims to Vennini Glass and I Bid You Farewell (thanks to Mr Bulk for his naming of the tracks which makes them really easy to place!). Launch Program Commence remains majestic, and eternally puzzling why it’s not in the film.

It’s quite funny how they often didn’t get messed around with in the edit, just dropped in and out, but usually keeping the timing Barry had established.
The only one I couldn’t quite figure is the Jaws Lends a Hand: does that play on directly from Reunited? I couldn’t quite work out where it’s cued in. Also, how do you guys think Globes Destroyed was supposed to play out? It mostly fits but seems to end before the climactic moment, was the picture re-edited after the score you think?

I think Jaws Lends a Hand starts after Bond tells him the shuttle can't disconnect and asks him for help. I overlayed it over that part and it fit there.

Ah okay, yeah you must be right, thanks. I guess it starts with some dark chords which probably come in as the film cuts to a shot of the station exploding a bit, right after Dolly whispers in Jaws' ear. It's a very odd cue though, I can kind of see why they left that one out- it reminds me of tracks from Barry's Beyondness of Things period much later on, when he went a bit sort of pastoral.

Really hope GE is just getting a delayed 30th anniversary expanded CD. Not liking we haven’t heard anything of it.

I'm a little concerned as well. GE and AVTAK are the two expansions I've been wanting most after OP and MR's expansions released.

I want other Bond scores. But the 3 Bond scores I want the most are TSWLM, AVTAK & GE.

I'd be inclined to give it a patient fortnight or so before having that sinking feeling in your gut of disappointment.

You ought to be looking at Black Friday, that is late November. That's when announcements tend to happen.

I’ve said it before, but they’ve done enough of these Bond scores now that I can’t see any reason why they wouldn’t plan on doing all of them (or at least the ones they have tapes for) eventually.

The only thing I could see potentially getting in the way would be the Amazon switchover.
