    The film version uses mostly take 3 and cuts to take 4 for the ending while the album uses take 3 with a fade out, because a buzzer started going off in the studio! Maybe a train was coming.

    One last, thoroughly geeky question. There are two versions of the bugle call in the track of the same name. Was there any indication on whether one was an alternate of the other, or if perhaps they were meant to be heard at different moments of the scene?

    No, they just did two wild takes and we included both. The shorter one is the one used in the film.
