That wasn't him, but I take your point about Romulus (though I liked the film a lot overall).

Regarding Alien: Earth, I was with it all the way until the last episode which just didn't land for me. Morrow and Kirsch are by far the most exciting characters on screen and the show has really negatively felt their reduced presence in the last two episodes for me.

And, that's before we get to Wendy and the pet alien stuff. I can see it being an interesting idea on paper but it just looked very silly in motion. That could be down to the direction, admittedly.

Alien Earth finale was not much of a finale at all, nothing really resolved. The first 10 minutes or so were tedious and felt like filler. there were a few decent action scenes and then lots of inexplicable things happened. Its clear who the real villain is now (that individual has one hell of a death count and is OP to the max), the show is devoid of any protagonists unless you count The Eye Octopus.

The season overall was incredibly stupid and all the characters equally so, saying that I found it entertaining for how ridiculous it was. The show did start to run out of steam in the last few episodes, god knows what insanity we will get for season 2.

I largely wanted to see more T Ocellus in action, in spite of my nightmares ...
I don't think it was meant to be a full finale. I think they were banking on a at least a second season.
I don't really know what to make of it other than it reminded me of what my students would probably want to do to the school should they be suddenly granted superpowers.

Noah Hawley is definitely daring FX to cancel the show. It’s been making it in the top ten most streamed shows, so it sounds like there’s a good chance it’ll be renewed.

Was it ever explained how . .
Wendy was able to tell the Alien what to do?

No, at least not yet. She's not even 100% on the Xeno communication. At one point she explains what she told one, and follows it up with, "I think.”

My guess is she was able to intuitively mimic the frequencies of a queen Xenomorph. So that makes me wonder, if a queen were actually present, would the drones then ignore Wendy in favor of the queen?

Over all I enjoyed Alien Earth. The Alien Eye/Squid creature for me was a real highlight. It creeped me out but also made me laugh, especially when it was inhabiting the sheep. The Fly creatures were pretty cool too.

I really enjoyed it. I think the idea of kids minds in adult bodies was played well too, the one guy (the black guy) was brilliant at mimicking a child's gait and movements.

Him and the Indian actor had such good chemistry and were very convincing as two boys shooting the s***. I can imagine those two starting a podcast together where half of what their vocabulary consists of “bro”.
