Ha! Yes, Q’s a killer in more ways than one!
Come to think of it he did offer ciggies in the TLD video game.
It's unlikely, but if the soundtrack is released, i'm buying it no question.

Definitely interested for this. I only recently discovered there is a TND game soundtrack, and managed to pick up the CD, despite it being for promotional use only. Seventeen tracks on that one.
(I’m not talking about the folks who want subtitles for their language! :D )
So glad the conversation here stays well above that level.
I think she's fine she has a nice voice British accent she is definitely a nice mother figure for Bond.
Does making M a female necessitate her being a "motherly figure"?
No, don't be ridiculous. But describing her as having an "uncanny ability to see and shape someone’s potential" is a little motherly.
Hoping for some typically Bondian sets though (rounded ceilings, steel staircases and the like) which is something I haven't spotted in the level design yet.
I think you’re making all the right calls. I like your insights on “Bondian” location characteristics as well; hopefully we see some of this in the game!
Nailed it 👌 I mean it's like M is skyfall. @LucknFate
Yes, that would be cool. I guess they’re keeping the villain under wraps so hopefully there’s plenty of lair which we’re yet to see.
I’d also like to see a bit more movieness from some of the set pieces; I was watching a vid of the Jeep chase from Uncharted 4 and remembering how it has so much interest in it, how you move from beat to beat and it feels like a movie, but the car chase in the FL preview looked a bit dry: you just take some shortcuts and a slightly pointless jump but otherwise you just drive along a road.
It’s something Everything Or Nothing did quite well in fact.

Heh- snap! I posted the same thing a few posts above.
Being older than the new Bond I can just about accept as he's a new, younger model; but being older than M is something I didn't realise I'd have to deal with so soon...
I wouldn't take any notice of a few negative comments. The reaction online has been overwhelmingly positive. I have confidence that First Light will review highly.
The M character is known as an Older White Man. What would be shocking is if there was no reaction.
I say this as somebody who liked Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q. But you don't have to change the race or gender or sexuality of a character every time just for the sake of it or because you think its fashionable.
Nope. Measurably so: the same post on BlueSky attracted zero racist replies. Any reply on X which isn't about Turkish subtitles is a racist one.
What would be lovely would be no reaction. M was a woman for nearly twenty years, I think an awful lot of people probably know M primarily as a female character.
Look at it this way: the British Prime Minister was primarily an Older White Man for hundreds of years. For the last 45 years we've got used to the PM no longer being an OWM; they can be young men, they can be women, they can be brown etc.; and no one blinks an eye. But M, a fictional civil servant also in the British Government, for some reason can't be any of those things? Nope. We've had three brown female Home Secretaries (think Freddie Gray in the 80s Bond films) in the last five years or so, in a way this actually feels more believable.
You're overthinking it.
It's just that X is full of bots and racists pushing a certain agenda for a sinister, rather Bond villain-esque purpose; we're better than that here.
The constant issues people take with race is definitely one of the reasons I constantly have to step away from this place.
As long as Bond is the racist evil white man im good let's get off politics
That's a disingenuous comment. Your statement holds true only because there are no replies...zero. At this specific moment, the only interactions on BlueSky are 3 shares and 11 likes.

To OP's point, I can go on other social media sources, such as reddit and youtube and find "racist" and "sexist" commentary about the game.
