  • Very bizarre for Sesko to take second last. Every striker practices pens no? Even if he wasn't confident enough for the first five, having someone like De Ligt before him doesn't make any sesnse

I am not sure what is going on in many aspects of tactics and line ups, it already feels like desperation hit and hope football.

Let's have a look at gameweek 1 before the gameweek 2 deadline tonight!
I must admit finding gameweek 1 very difficult to predict, and even picking a decent team was a task going all the way up until the deadline. Some highly owned assets failed to deliver points to managers, but that doesn't mean our league didn't see good scores. Best in the first gameweek of the season was THE GREATEST, scoring 79 points. Congratulations! =D>

Make sure to have your teams ready by tonight's deadline, at 18:30 UK time!

    _____________

I'm itching to have a look at the graphics for this season, but I haven't had the time. If I do get the opportunity, I might make some changes at some point.
Just occurred to me I have not even checked what the new chip(s) are yet, been a long week so had no time really and been ill.

Looking at the breakdown for last nights game I think I understand the defensive bonus system.

Not sure if Wirtz is worth hanging onto.

Hope you're doing better now, @Fire_and_Ice_Returns!

I might be getting cold feet re. Wirtz too. In the draft that ended up being my final team, him vs. overall squad depth and/or defenders was the big question. And I wasn't really sure by the deadline which I preferred the most. Looking at the current scores from this weekend's games, it looks like I might have made the wrong call in the end. Time will tell.

Better thanks @Torgeirtrap throat infection still up and down though off work now so will try to sleep it off.

I did two transfers last night in my delirium lol my team is bad i bet I hit the wildcard soon.
Horrible way to lose the game, i feel sick after watching that. Arsenal defended well.

I've had two weeks of being a bit under the weather myself, which started with a soar throat. Still a bit more tired than usual, but getting better. Hope you will too!

Gameweek 1 didn't work out at all for me. Just about any 50/50 call up until the deadline went against me. I might do anything from nothing at all to play the wildcard by the next deadline!

My takeaway from the game is that United looked a lot better than I've seen of them in a long time. Arsenal looked way off, with the exception of the corner leading to the goal, and Gabriel and Saliba's defending. Big question marks for Arsenal going into the next game, but I'd be optimistic as a United fan.

Think there has been something going around as many people I know have had throat issues recently, hope you feel 100 per cent soon.

I have already hit my wildcard I was not happy with my lineup at all lol going into this new season I really did not know who to select for my team after the first round of games I have a better idea of who will be good assets I think lol

M an United looked better though no points shows there is still work to do, our midfield is still an issue, Ugarte needs to improve also as not been great during preseason and will be targeted a lot when in possession as he is not press resistant. Personally I think most of our midfielders when be more suited in a 3 man midfield set up.

Yeah, I'm not the only one at work having felt more tired and unwell than usual – but I guess it's just one of those late summer/early autumn kind of bugs!

Still not sure what to do myself. On one hand I don't feel my team is terrible on paper, but I do feel I missed some great opportunities with the players I went without. My team doesn't look good for gameweek 2 either (although that was taken into consideration when picking the gameweek 1 squad), but I do wonder still if I need to take some action or not to avoid dropping too much in the overall rankings.

I do wonder if United can bring one more signing in before the window closes. They've done well with the signings they have brought in, and just another quality player to add to that squad can make a lot of difference. They were linked with some defenders too, earlier in the window?

Eberechi Eze transfer news: Arsenal agree £67.5m deal to sign Crystal Palace forward after hijacking Tottenham move........💥

This transfer window is bonkers......... 🎅

My Twitter/X timeline has never been as exciting as when the news broke :)) The fact that they've managed to get him over Sp*rs makes it even better!

    _____________
Couldn't decide on a transfer (or wildcard draft!) so I'm saving my transfer until next gameweek.

Max and Rio did well when they came on.⚽⚽

    Indeed!

Didn't watch the game, but someone pointed this out afterwards. Very strange. I get that signing for a big club might be difficult for any player, but surely it would have been better to let him take one of the first five.

Amorim got a bit emotional and has since said he feels like quitting though appears to have retracted the comments kind of.

I just made the one transfer and sold Palmer.

We only got about 30 mins left untl the gameweek 3 deadline, but let's have a quick look at gameweek 2 first! With an average of 51 points, this was very much an average gameweek. While some highly owned players failed to deliver points, other players, such as João Pedro – owned by over 60 percent of managers – delivered double digits. Our gameweek 2 winner AC Miami, had two strikers delivering this gameweek, finishing the gameweek with 69 points. Congratulations! =D>

He doesn't look like a manager that holds back when interviewed. That's refreshing in one way, but not so much in other circumstances.

His honesty does leave him open to criticism, even last season I felt he maybe spoke a bit too much at press conferences etc.

Yes, there's a balance needed, if he wants to protect himself from criticism. United have one of the best possible fixtures this weekend though, so if they want to make a statement after the midweek game, this is the match to do it.

Makes me think of all the criticism Arteta has faced!

Not sure about that team selection. It's a game against a promoted team so they should be fine. Still no Šeško in the starting eleven though…

Sesko midweek did not look sharp, he got into good positions quite often though his touch let him down.

Me selling João Pedro after GW1 was a huge mistake.

They do need to give him enough minutes to get into match fitness though. Given the start of their season, Amorim might be careful to utilise a player that's not yet at his best match fitness, but still, they need their star striker playing.

Glad I kept him myself. I even put the armband on João Pedro this gameweek because I wasn't sure about any of the other options in my team.

Agree Sesko needs game time, I think Amorim is in panic mode though the reality is we are struggling in front of goal its all a bit hit and hope and frantic.

If they can't rely on Šeško up front yet, they really need Cunha and Mbuemo to carry the team with Bruno. I agree it's not ideal for them right now.
