Madueke played on the left in the second half, and while I didn't pay too much attention I do think he could fit in some scenarios. He wasn't too comfortable with coming inside and was overly reliant on his dominant left at times. However, he was quick to go down the line and get crosses in for Gyokeres, which is better than having a righty on the left have to jink into position first before crossing.

I think the left side for Arsenal should either be Calafiori-Rice/Merino-Martinelli/Trossard or Lewis-Skelly - Attacking player (Eze hopefully?) - Madueke.

Zubimendi was also fantastic today, I didn't mention him. He scored the "winning" penalty, assisted Gyokeres, and also played a great ball to send Saka in on goal that Saka should have done better with. I always preferred Rice as the lone 6 but I think Zubimendi is quite a bit better technically in that role.

Yes, this is the impression I've got from Madueke so far too. I saw a training video (a highlights comp should be noted), and he looked so at ease on the right hand side in that video. I don't think Arsenal would have paid what they did to get him, only for him to cover one position, so I guess we will see him in multiple positions throughout the season.

Very much agree on the left hand side setup you mention here. I do think Arsenal need that additional player though, to complete the attacking options.

I really hope Arteta will get the best out of Zubimendi. A studio pundit here in Norway who is particularly known for his knowledge of La Liga, was very clear in his opinion of Zubimendi, and went as far as to say at one point that Arsenal would have stood a good chance of winning the league had they signed him last summer. Things look very different now though, with everyone looking much stronger than they did – particularly Liverpool.
Baleba agreed personal terms and pushing for move to Man United things moving fast... its now Brighton's move will they buckle...

Really depends on Brighton's plans should he leave. Do they have a replacement coming in?

Not sure not long back from work so not caught up with all stories yet, I am thinking Man United would not have gone this far if they were not prepared to spend big. I guess if Brighton do sell they will want to do it soon so they can replace him.

I read Colyier was offered to Brighton as part of the deal though was flatly refused.

Internet not been great so just upgraded my hub and the difference is unreal i did not realize how slow my other hub was lol

I guess Brighton must have been prepared for a bid to come from a bigger club for the player too, of course. They're a club that has a track record of selling and replacing players successfully. The only thing that might be difficult with this deal, is the timing, I guess.

These kinds of upgrades can make a huge difference. The main router for my WiFi was upgraded by the internet provider a year and a half ago, as they were changing old models. For some reason the new router, although great when using my Macbook or whatever nearby works just fine, this router does not cover the entire flat as good as the old one (for some reason) – so I got a Google Nest Wifi with an adtitional access point to cover the whole flat. That has worked fine so far.

My FPL team is a mess I may just copy a YT team as I don't know who to pick lol a few of my players already injured.

My provider said my hub was no longer getting updates @Torgeirtrap I have the fastest broadband bundle though my old hub never had the capability to show it lol with hindsight.

Calvert Lewin being linked to Man United again, as a back up striker as Zirkzee is injured why not.

I really struggle with my team as well. I've made a few changes here and there because of transfer window transfers and such, but I can't even settle on a formation yet!

That's part of the reason my internet provider offered new routers to all their customers, simply so that you would get the best out of the internet you actually pay for. I've had few issues since the upgrade, which is great.

Calvert-Lewin is a free agent now, isn't he? Could be a good deal for United.

Donnarumma held talks with both Chelsea and Man United a few hours ago. I bet he goes to Chelsea.

@Torgeirtrap completely changed my team today I am seriously thinking of going without Salah io think he is too expensive.

Will Barcelona vs. Villarreal be played in Miami? Proposed date of La Liga game in USA as RFEF approves plan

Spanish FA approve request for Villarreal v Barcelona, how long before a Premier League game does this, its all about the money. Villarreal forfeiting home advantage.

A reporter for The Times just wrote on X/Twitter that «Chelsea plan to head into the new season with Sanchez as No1, no change in stance around GKs, happy with options and not in for Donnarumma.»

I guess there's still a chance for United then, but it will depend on their transfer strategy for the transfer window. What a chance though – potentially getting one of the world's best in the position.

When you see how the clubs use their preseason tours just as much as promotional tours, it's only a matter of time for sure.

I'm not against clubs using preseason tours as promotional tours though; that's just a clever way of building interest around the club. A league game (or games!) is much different.

I have thrown a team together, not fully understanding the new bonus points yet so winging it a bit.

Surely it's just a matter of time for Isak. Big blow for Newcastle of course!

I'm starting to have something ready, but there are a few positions I'm really not sure about yet. This last hour will be busy! :))

If it turns out anything like the Swedish Fantasy game, then it won't be that difficult. In that game, you will see who's worth going for in a matter of gameweeks – especially those players that seem to pick up bonus points regularly. A lot of content creators have delved deep into which players who might or might not be bonus points magnets, but I don't think it's as easy to just use stats from last season to predict bonus points for this season.

Edit: I might have sacrificed a bit of team structure in a last minute move. Really don't know if that change was saved or not though!

Salah scores late to give me some much needed captain points, I fell asleep so missed the deadline and most of the game.

Didn't have the chance to see the entire game, but I had a little hope for a draw (for non FPL reasons) when Bournemouth scored their second equalizer. Wasn't to be, of course…

Just occurred to me I have not even checked what the new chip(s) are yet, been a long week so had no time really and been ill.

Looking at the breakdown for last nights game I think I understand the defensive bonus system.

Not sure if Wirtz is worth hanging onto.

Hope you're doing better now, @Fire_and_Ice_Returns!

I might be getting cold feet re. Wirtz too. In the draft that ended up being my final team, him vs. overall squad depth and/or defenders was the big question. And I wasn't really sure by the deadline which I preferred the most. Looking at the current scores from this weekend's games, it looks like I might have made the wrong call in the end. Time will tell.

Been watching the Sunderland - West Ham game, and I must say I'm really impressed by Sunderland's performance today. If this is what we can expect from them this season, they will easily stay up. The players offer great value in FPL too!

I have reluctantly subscribed to SKY Sports for a year, Man United better not play terrible football lol it does seem like SKY are showing more games this season.

According to SKY they have gone up from 128 matches last season to 215 matches in the Premier League this season which is good.

What has happened to football Eze free kick ruled out because of VAR and shoulder strength, just make the game none contact ff...

Apparently the push was not the reason for it being ruled out but proximity to the Chelsea wall???

At least Wood has scored a goal for my FPL disasterclass of a team.

Chelsea not really got going, for all there spending they have signed 8 new players this summer its baffling they have not got a world class keeper and world class CB's in.

Rasmus not in squad and Onana not starting (may not be in the squad either) for Man United, the ruthlessness continues.

Wood gets a second thank god.

    ---
    Bayindir

Dalot, Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw, Dorgu

    Bruno, Casemiro

    Mount, Mbeumo

    Cunha

Man United line up, not happy with Cunha as a 9 and that midfield is too slow. Maybe Mount will be a false 9, Cunha for me is very dangerous running from deep and wasted up top.

João Pedro looks to be going off done nothing in this game.

Brentford scores there goes my Forest clean sheet, the FPL stresses are here once again.

Eze being clapped off could this be his last game for Palace.

I had to chuckle when I just saw World Champions giant sign inside Stamford Bridge stadium.

0 - 0 Palace are a tough nut to crack.
