The way they are putting that Triumph in the trailer and them being an official partner or something, I would hope so!
For example, how cool would it be if you could drive the boat around individual parts of this large area, meeting people, infiltrating areas, and slowly working your way up to (presumably) the villains lair seen at the back, in the middle. And maybe engage in various side missions / activities.
And if it is the cliff set house you're tasked with getting in to, having mutliple ways of doing it:
It's what IO have called the 'African Rundown' outfit from Casino Royale.
Some new nuggets of information in the interview.
Meanwhile, a gaming outlet from Brazil published details from the event, but it’s since been taken down. However, the details have been picked up from multiple sources. The gameplay showed James Bond tracking down 009 at a chess tournament in Slovakia. There were glimpses of this in the PlayStation State of Play announcement trailer from June. Below is a translation of the details from the article.
The mission begins with Bond still in the training phase. He sets off on a journey, climbing a hill in a car. Without access to the franchise’s traditional gadgets, the initial approach immediately evokes the Hitman series, which makes sense given that the game’s developer is IO Interactive.
The game’s atmosphere is filled with conspiracy. Bond, disguised as a chauffeur, follows two allies by radio. When one of the targets displays suspicious behaviour, the player is given the freedom to follow their path, similar to the open missions of Hitman. However, it’s worth noting that the presentation occasionally drops in FPS, which is understandable in development builds but still worth mentioning.
In the first segment of the mission, Bond demonstrates his inexperience and ingenuity as an agent. He cleverly manipulates the environment to distract guards, causing a leak, setting fire to dry leaves, and making his way through a window with fluidity. This movement is reminiscent of Uncharted at times.
The second checkpoint immediately transitions into a car chase. The scene draws comparisons to Forza Horizon from certain perspectives, yet maintains a serious tone. The car appears heavy, and the driving style deviates from the typical arcade approach, aligning with the realistic narrative. Bond, accompanied by a mysterious woman, locates the enemy’s car and continues towards the final part, sparing the reader spoilers.
The third section begins in a forest and ends with a set piece aboard an airplane. Bond alternates between gunfights, melee, and creative uses of the environment. The ability to slow down time allows Bond to create strategic windows during the action. The animations are eye-catching, featuring acrobatics as Bond picks up weapons from the ground and throws them at enemies.
The sequence in the plane is spectacular. It features wing fighting, infiltration back inside the aircraft, and stealth scenes in narrow corridors. The soundtrack explodes when Bond is thrown out of the plane without a parachute, and the screen cuts out just as he reaches an enemy in the air. This cinematic, daring, and completely 007 sequence is a highlight of the gameplay.
