I was shocked at the passing of Julian McMahon, I’ve only recently watched The Surfer.
More sad news, and far too young. RIP

    RIP
Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva
    Michael Madsen
    Julian McMahon

It goes without saying that these gentlemen were taken before their time.

Thoughts and prayers to their families and friends.

The 70s were a very comfortable place to be with Bob Newhart and his television show. And the guy who could successfully phone it in.

A good life lived by him.

Bob Newhart left us a year ago @RichardTheBruce

You even commented on his passing.

I'm saddened to have just found out that the author and journalist Duff Hart-Davis died on 10th July 2025 at the age of 89. He was the son of Rupert Hart-Davis who worked at Jonathan Cape in Ian Fleming's time and the godson of Peter Fleming, Ian's elder brother. He went on to write the excellent Peter Fleming: A Biography (Jonathan Cape, 1974). Although a biography of Peter Fleming as opposed to Ian this book is a very important early source on the origins of the literary James Bond continuation. The passages on this are well worth a read for anyone interested in how the Bond continuation came about.

His obituary in The Daily Telegraph:
