    Actually I got that one from a book called The Bond Code, I recommend you get it. Can't remember the author at the moment. But Skyfall has dragons, Dr No has 'locals' afraid of dragons, you might recall its HMS Dragon that blows Bond up in NTTD, yeah - Wow its a dragon that kills him!
    Apparently Fleming had a thing about dragons as images around his home. There's more references but I'm too tired to think it out at the moment.

    I didn't know that about Stoker finding the name Dracula off the cuff like that. And Austria? That would make the novel a bit different!

    Stoker's working name was Count Wampyr. It's relatively late in the writing process that he switched settings.

    I think the dragon motif ties in more to St. George and the Dragon, of which I believe there are a number of allusions to in the books. But I definitely got Dracula vibes reading OHMSS so it’s fitting that Dracula himself is another “dragon” to be defeated.
