As we've been talking viewing figures, the 28 day figures for the first two episodes are out and they have more than doubled the overnight ones.

They're making a CBeebies Dr Who cartoon for young kids, so it doesn't seem like the show is over, no matter what any YouTubers might try and tell you.

I have heard rumours Tennant will return again... On reflection Tennant should have finished with 50th anniversary that was a great way to say good bye.

We need a new show runner who is not stuck in there own past.

Rumours aren't fact though, I'd be very surprised if Tennant turned up again. I take your point with regards to Piper though.

For the time being, I am going to assume this is some left over tampering from The Celestial Toymaker. He did make that comment about making a jigsaw of the Doctors life, or something like that.

The Producers need to understand the difference between regenerate and recycle

Regernerate - bring new and more vigorous life to

Recycle - return (material) to a previous stage in a cyclic process

Just one example of series 5 being the GOAT of modern Who.

60 years ago today, the Doctor took a trip back to 1066 and met another of his kind...

Being one of my personal favourites from the Hartnell era, I might mark the occasion by watching part 1 later.

Rewatching the Davidson era, was never an era I liked though fast forward I am having a renewed appreciation when you compare it to the last two era's.

When i saw Tom Baker regenerate as a kid i was devastated as i was very invested in his Doctor, Peter was such a stark contrast back in 1981 I never took to him in the role.

The one scene I remember most fondly was the cricket ball in space!

During Peter's era the production was still ok, I enjoyed Castrovalva and the exploration of the Tardis and finding the Zero room. I felt the Zero room was cheaply used in The Reality War, admittedly that episode is a hilarious mess and enjoyable for all the wrong reasons.

I used to love Davison but I’ve gone off him a little recently. He’s very good, but I’m not sure why his Doctor was written as being so humourless.

I'm not a massive fan of the 5th Doctor, he's a bit... meh, for me, but The Caves Of Androzani is first rate Doctor Who. And then there's Nyssa. :x

As a kid Nyssa, Romana 1 and Victoria were my favourites.

Dodo my least favourite, so irritating.

Years later Jo Grant has grown on me.

Shame there’s no samples of the new effects, I guess they’re not done yet

Just saw this. We still don't have a full Troughton series yet, but it's damn close.

Apparently Dr Who has earned its first ever Emmy nomination - for choreography of all things! :D

Yeah it probably is, I'm just being silly :D Wasn't it the lady from Strictly doing the choreography on that episode? That's quite funny.

HAVOC, wasn't it? I know they were credited for the action sequences of the Pertwee era.

A rewatch of The Tenth Planet left me wanting more. 4 parts long, and it races by in the blink of an eye.

I think it's all but confirmed the show is going away again. When even RTD doesn't know what's going on, not even giving fans a bit of hope, it's not good.

A long hiatus is probably for the best, Billy Piper's image at the end of the last episode seems to get worse by the day. I wish it would have just ended by cutting to black and we did not know who the next Doctor was.

God RTD really did destroy the show, its such a mess with all the bi-regeneration nonsense etc. Why didn't the Doctor bi-regenerate at the end of the last episode? Terrible writing that's why.

If and when Doctor Who returns I pray it is in the hands of someone who will respect the show and its very long history.

RTD managed to make me appreciate the Chris Chibnal era more, which is one hell of an achievement.

In my heart the show ended when Capaldi regenerated, I hope the show returns and changes my opinion one day.

    ---

On a positive note I rewatched Inferno the other night, we really were spoilt during that era so many great episodes.

Listening to The Chimes At Midnight, they really missed an opportunity not bringing back the 8th Doctor for a live action mini series at the very least.
