At any rate, I think there are plenty of directors out there who could do it.
Just wait until The Running Man remake this November, some advanced footage was shown and the people who saw it say its a return to form for Wright.
Oh, that's cool. I can hardly wait for The Running Man. Another thing is, Amazon are about to launch a new era of Bond. It's a very huge thing. So they're very much going to cast a wider net on directors and pick the best. So I'm not sure they would want to look at only 2-3 directors, before picking one.
Limiting themselves to only eyeing 2-3 directors also runs the risk of putting too many eggs in the same basket should those choices fall through for whatever reason. Best to keep the options very open and keep the list of candidates long, so that if talks with one potential choice do break down or something else comes up that prevents them from taking it, there’s someone else they can turn to right behind them.
Yeah. Exactly.
My money is on Nolan directing, maybe cowriting Bond 1/26 out in 2028.
No one's guaranteed to direct this film in that sense.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you for giving me hope he could still direct the next Bond film @Informe_James_Bond =D> =;
Oi, @Peirce2Daniel, know if anything came of this? :-?
Anyway, I suspect when big news comes along about the next Bond film, it'll be its own thing.
He has Ray Gunn and 1906 in development, so sadly he’s going to be unavailable for Bond 26.
Ah, another dream dashed. =((
It probably means he's in directors' jail.
You have zero idea what you're talking about. See above... he is a working director. Shut up.
The trouble with that is, why hire Pascal and Heyman? Would they leave first? Because Nolan and his wife typically produce their own movies.
Anyway, I don't think Pascal and Heyman are going to be very involved creatively.
At least not like Barbara and Michael.
Oh, I think....should it come to that, they should be able to work things out. Nolan himself is aware of the rules, when making a Bond film.
Then you really don’t know what a producer does, @DEKE_RIVERS .
How can a director leave a project he was never attached to, @Mendes4Lyfe ? By the sounds of it, they met. And nothing came of it.
But what is there to substantiate that claim? No one picked up the story in the industry.
The idea that Cuaron is in talks at least had some insider credentials.
Anyway, there's plenty of directors who could potentially give us a great Bond movie.
And those two have abysmal records when it comes to agent 007.
If you speak to anyone in the industry, no one has been hired for Bond 26, apart from the two producers.
When these two are done their other projects, they’ll be gearing up on James Bond. And no one will miss the news once the writers are hired, and the director.
I think there’s still a bit to go before we hear real news.
