And so romanova kills klebb. As domino later kills largo. Bye bye Venice, and film. It was a lovely viewing. Amazing how this film still stands up today.

Thanks! I thoroughly enjoyed the film, despite the title and current circumstances. It was actually the reason why I hadn't watched it for so long.

Theme song's lyrics are rather pretentious aren't they? The title sequence seems to have blended Maurice Binder and uncut crack cocaine.

Wonder if Barry dropped acid with the duran boys for the song.

My christ rog looks old and so does lois maxwell

The two look propped up on vaseline

Plus rog's obvious facial surgery makes him look stern, not young, as though smiling would crack his leather-beaten face apart. The eyes are cold.

Moneypenny's office has some old gear (besides herself). A computer and a word processor since she booted Loelia out, the jealous old mare.

We've also lost the outside imagery from octopussy (the high rises) from her window, giving the room a deathly hearth...

Everybody in the meeting room are now dead, and their description of microchips is like your nan explaining wi fi to you.

Rog's enunciation is quality but top marks go to Geoffrey 'Mustard' Keen and his 'we'd be paralysed at the Russian's mercy!'

    What a brilliant actor.

There is a good rich/poor contrasting shot at the horse races.

M and Bond could not look more suspicious if they tried. Anthony Chinn features within the scene, too, before being blimped later.

Saw him in Dr No yesterday (not like that you pervert)

Cotton candy pink and pearls does not suit Moneypenny. She looks as though she's dressed as a child to impress Rog, which is just sick.

Desmond Llewellyn's silent acting, with his eyes, is just fantastic when Bond and Tibbett set up the meeting.

The eighties couple walking past the Eiffel Tower os excellent exposition of time and location. She's dressed like MJ and he must have some tolerance

Aubergine is the character who needs his own spin-off. An origin tale, from his huble begiinings inwherever aubergines spout from (i cant be arsed looking this shit up) to the most stereotypical officer in France.

I'm a bit jealous of everyone who has gotten their 4K Connery set. I still don't have a 4K player.
However this has put me in a Connery Bond mood so I'm watching YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE.
I purchased the complete series of SECRET AGENT aka DANGER MAN recently and the last two episodes give me YOLT vibes.

Bond is buried at sea. Connery looks great in hs Naval uniform.

M looks great here. Oddly I think he looks about 20 years older in the next film.

I love the fight in Osato's office.

As Bond breaks into Osato's safe, the close ups of Bond's hands don't look like Connery's to me.

A buddy of mine left a voicemail telling me he had gotten the NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN haircut for the summer.
I thought that was pretty funny.
My wife is my hairdresser now. She vetoed the YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE haircut for me. She find's Connery's neck hair in this film too unkempt. However, I'm noticing in some scenes it's tapered a little cleaner. When he picks up Aki after his massage for instance.
