    Lois gets to lecture Superman on the morals of rescuing or injecting himself into situations? Interesting change the Lois and Sup's dynamic. I don't recall that happening before. Superman seems...different than the Reeves version. A cockiness? Again that seems to be an interesting choice does it lead to his being overly confident for when Luthor or whoever the main baddie of the film comes for him?

    I think this movie will explore some interesting situations, though I did get a Snyder vibe to the Lois lecture.

    I do like that this seems to be a somewhat naive Superman that looks through a simple right or wrong viewpoint. Lois is asking if he considered the consequences and his response to that is “PEOPLE WERE GOING TO DIE”. He’s not thinking in terms of politics but of lives, he comes off so frustrated like he feels as if he’s the only sane person on the planet that thinks like that.

    I'm not a fan of Lois aware Clark is Superman. That seems unnecessary. Why not hold that back for a second film?

    The whole point is Kal-El has a dual identity on Earth. He disguises himself as Clark Kent. To squander that 'disguise' in the first film is foolish, imho. Lois knows Clark is Superman so James Gunn/DC have cheaply thrown away a key aspect of the character. Sorry but the film has already messed up.

    If you’ve only read old comics, sure, but this is no longer the dynamic and hasn’t for decades.

    You understanding seems out of date. The old conceit of Clark Kent being the act that’s put on by Superman is a very old take from the pre-Crisis comics. Ever since the comics rebooted in 1986, Clark Kent has always been the true personality and that’s because it objectively makes more sense that way. Think of it, he grew up in Kansas adopted by a kind couple. For many years he didn’t even know what his true origin was. When he finds out his origin, that doesn’t suppress and take over who he is. He’s still very much Clark Kent. So when he becomes Superman, that’s actually an act he’s playing for the public.

    The film didn’t mess up anything, it’s just finally catching up with where the movies have been lagging for over 30 years.

    Even the whole thing with Lois not knowing Superman is Clark has already been played out. It hasn’t been a core aspect of Superman ever since she found out in the comics over 30 years ago. It worked great for Reeve’s films, but we should account for the 40 years that have passed since Reeve’s debut.

    That scene might not be quite what it first appears to be. Keep the faith.

    Maybe it's just me, but I honestly don't care one way or the other whether she knows he's Superman or not. In fact it's arguably quite interesting if she does know.

    Trailer looks interesting! Not the prettiest looking film I’ve ever seen visually (at least in places) but I’m looking forward to it.

    Yep, same. We've done the films where she doesn't know, and there's been plenty of media since (comics, cartoons, several TV shows) where she does and it's always worked I think. I have no issue with it.

    One of the things I liked about the Donner cut of II was that Lois immediately figured out Clark as Superman within a minute after the main credits. Like, OF COURSE Lois effin Lane would put that together. So when both versions of II end with different ways of having her memory wiped it’s false because what’s to stop her from figuring out again? It’s like a ticking bomb, there’s no way of stopping it. It’s definitely one of the weaknesses of the Reeve films that they never settle with just having her remember it for the rest of the films. But that was from a time when the comic status quo was her not ever knowing, so it’s a different time.

    I remember the way they did it in Lois and Clark was quite neat: he worked himself up to finally telling her in a grand reveal, and of course she'd already figured it out. Because, as you say, she's supposed to be a great investigative reporter, of course she knew.
    I wonder, if they're using Williams' theme, will they use the 'Can You Read My Mind' theme?

    I’ve never watched GREEN LANTERN, but I know of the scene of Ryan Reynolds trying to reveal himself as Green Lantern to Blake Lively.
