I only read the DL one and it felt like a side note like: this is what The Sun reported earlier today, kind of blurb, and they, and their cousins never picked up the story again— and that’s telling.
As for Villeneuve, he strikes me as a director who loves working with as many as the same people, or the same types of people on his projects. I wouldn’t be surprised if (hypothetical scenario coming-up!), Purvis and Wade wrote the first draft.
Villeneuve attaches himself but tells EoN he’d love for Sphaits to have a pass as well— that wouldn’t surprise me in the least if something like that happened.
And I could see EoN giving it the thumbs up.
And I know some people would like them to step down, but I don't mind if Purvis and Wade are still being involved, especially for a first draft. Like it or not, they know their Bond and in my eyes have provided enough good to outweigh the bad (although I say that as a fan of both Brosnan and Craig's eras).
Another thing I can hypothetically imagine is another writer maybe being brought in to amp up the humour, but that will also depend on what route they take with Bond as a whole. Villeneuve is a master and may surprise us, but based on what we've seen so far, it might be something the script will need unless Purvis and Wade would have that covered. I quite enjoyed the more subtle humour of Casino Royale to be honest, but EON may want to boost it a bit more with this next era.
For sure @Denbigh , it wouldn’t be out of bounds for another doctor to come on board and do a polish on the humour (or some over all polishes on the characters; I think PWB came on board to punch up the dialogue, work on the women characters and then, she seemingly was great to work with and I heard that CF kept her to massage the “science” behind the nanobots (essentially making this concept easier for audiences to grasp). I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case. PWB is a great writer, high IQ creator. I’d love to see her back in some capacity).
If this is the situation, once things start rolling, they move quickly ; is seems like a project that Villeneuve would be squeezing into his very crowded dance card
I get the feeling she's been signed up to do big projects like the Tomb Raider thing and they've got a bit mired and bogged down in the studio processes. I guess she might also have been doing more script doctoring, which traditionally doesn't get publicised.

Again, nobody is claiming that there will be a coronation. ATJ has been rumoured to be a contender for well over a year. It's entirely possible that there IS a script and that there IS a director and that they HAVE screentested ATJ.
We THINK that there is no script and there is no director because they usually announce the screenwriters and the director as soon as they sign the contract. What if it's different this time? What if the director is particulary secretive? What if the director and the writer are the same person? *cough* Nolan *cough*
No, I am not saying that everything in the article is correct. Articles containing rumours often mix stuff that's true with stuff that isn't. What I do believe is true is that ATJ is a major contender, and probably the frontrunner right now.

As for Gunn, he shut down reporting about Superman's budget even though the report was correct and provided confrimation for the budget!! (The website for the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit includes public info on the movie's budget.)
So there's truth to it but not this truth? Are these alternative facts?
Just be patient. It might not be this year, but something will eventually happen with this film. There’s no scenario where a magic wand is waved and EON come out with everything about this film completely ready to go.
?? What do you mean by that? I am saying that ATJ being the fronrunner is likely true but for example there being a 'fantasy' twist probably isn't.
But it's not like the rumour about ATJ's imminent casting came completely out of the blue. He has been rumoured for one and a half years now! Longer than Craig had been rumoured for before he was officially announced!
I genuinely don’t see what any of that proves. They’re still rumours. And nothing at the casting level is currently happening.
Well… the rumours are that ATJ has been cast. That’s the point.
But I get what you mean. I think there’s a reason he’s the subject of these stories. But it doesn’t give us any indication about his chances of even getting an audition, much less the role.
This story is adding new details to the rumours, particularly `The insider added: 'They would like it to be a little more of a fantasy, with interesting and iconic bad guys and over the top action and not as real as Daniel Craig's films were.
'They are looking to steer it more towards the Pierce Brosnan films in terms of tone and referencing Bond's past that people loved, but still incorporating moments to move the films forward.'
Casting ATJ would be a step in that direction if this is the path EON are taking next. Where are they getting this info from?
Nothing more than some geek's wishful thinking? Honestly, I cannot for the life of me see BB and MGW leak things like that to some journalist, especially when no big announcements have been made yet.
Me neither but they aren't the only people who could leak Bond 26 related information. I mean it wasn't BB or MGW who in the spring of 2005 leaked to the tabloids that Craig was their favourite.
Wasn't that Craig's mom? Or is my memory letting me down? ;-)
If this is true, I doubt it would be either of them leaking this stuff anyway. Whoever this insider is (if true) is either on a hell-bent mission to put pressure on Bond 26 getting made quickly, or is on a mission to get fired off the production.
I mean, they couldn't get them together to celebrate "60 Years of Bond" but they're going to do it to announce Aaron.

I wholeheartedly believe that if these 5 were actually auditioned and screentested, one would stand out and be cast.
While I have a current favorite, I could be happy if any of those gents were cast.
Most of them are too old.
