Bond 26 is gonna feel so different and modern, bond 25 was fully completed shooting in 2019 its already a 4 year old film technically.

    I hope so.

If it takes another 4 years or so for Bond 26 to release like some are predicting that's an 8 year gap between films, or a similar visual leap from LTK to TND.

Another 4 years? If EON's BOND 26 won't premiere before late 2027, then they really have no reason to not allow Nolan do make a one-off Bond film that premieres in late 2025. EON might work slow, but Nolan works fast.

I was gonna share this in a specific music page but there doesn't seem to be much engagement on those pages so thought I'd post here that Raye would be a great choice for the theme of Bond 26, given how much her star has been on the rise.

Sounds like he was actively shopping Oppenheimer around in mid-21, so two years. Late '25 seems a tough ask if he started tomorrow.

    Or from OHMSS to TSWLM

Worth remembering that people aren't necessarily straight about their involvement with Bond until EON are ready to let them speak openly. Before SF, when the press asked Naomi if she was playing Moneypenny, she said she was playing a character called Eve. Before SP, when Waltz was asked if he was playing Blofeld, he said he was playing a character called Franz Oberhauser. Ok, Malek said he wasn't playing Dr. No but he was pretty much playing Dr. 'Noh', tbf. According to BB, EON haven't even begun to think about Bond 26. Not haven't had any discussions about it or haven't done any preparatory work on it - she claims that they haven't even thought about it. Hmmm. Nolan's statement is pretty unequivocal but, given EON's track record, I wouldn't take it entirely at face value.

I'd agree. He's clearly not ready to update his IMDB with it. His "very thrilled that the strike is over and we can all get to back to work" could even read to me as "they wouldn't talk to me before because we were locked in strikes, now me and Eon can at least talk." So there could still be hope, but as many have pointed out, we can only take each party at their public word for now, and he's debunked the rumors to our face.

The hype and expectation of brilliance feel like a recipe for disappointment. I'll be perfectly fine with a new Bond film without CN attached.

Things are at a standstill with Bond 26, so I’m not at all surprised that the rumours of him being in talks and developing a concept with the producers are false, but I wouldn’t be surprised if, when production does start again, Nolan ends up being the choice or at least in legitimate talks.

That said I think the reboot would benefit from a fresher voice. The Craig films whether directly or indirectly, were heavily influenced by Nolan and you can feel it. I’d love to see someone like Gareth Evans, Damien Chazelle, Park Chan-wook, Alfonso Cuaron, or Denis Villeneuve helm the next one.

  • I'm 37. The last Bond came along when I was 20. It's a shame that someone of my generation might not get to play Bond the way things are going.
  • the next Bond will be the first actor that is younger than me!

This has most likely already been shared.
    But just in case….

Have to say I’m not surprised and am happy that EON don’t want to go down the AI path.

I wonder if this means we won't be seeing any Connery or Moore led video games on EON's watch. It's pretty much the same concept, innit.

I think that’s always been the case on the gaming side of things unfortunately. EON have always wanted the current Bond to be at the forefront of all marketing, and the one time we were able to get a Connery video game in FRWL, that was during the transitional period between Brozzy and Craig.

The ideal time to do a concept like that would’ve been the 50th anniversary with 007 Legends.

A year or so ago, I was hoping for a 2025 release, but now 2027 indeed seems to be the most probable year of release. Not that 2026 is not possible, but I guess Eon will try to take advantage on the 65th anniversary year to launch their new Bond. Hopefully, they will release it earlier but, from a marketing perspective, 2027 seems to be a good call.

I'm not sure about my comment now, I've just remembered that in the latest game Cypher, Bond looks to me like a young Roger Moore - at least during the dialogue exchanges. He looks like Moore in LALD or a bit younger, particularly how he looks when arriving in NY.

I was quite shocked at seeing the Moore resemblance too, but I can also see a tad bit of Connery in that drawing too, as well as the facial scar Fleming’s Bond had. Perhaps that’ll be the direction going forward; not taking inspiration from any specific actor, and instead creating amalgamated versions based on specific traits of the actors.

I think the time for old Bonds in video games has sadly passed, save for Dalton. I think the "bar" for Eon is simply, is the actor alive to do the work? If yes, and it's just voice work, they'd be game for it, as we saw with the FRWL game. But they won't do pastiche or a copy, and never an impression.

For some reason, Brosnan's Bond suits games more.

He was the most machine gun heavy Bond of all of them. Makes sense he translates well to shoot em ups.

How about Eon takes a page from the "Godzilla Minus One" playbook. It's turning out to be a BIG Godzilla fan favorite, possibly the best picture of the year and all with a $15 million budget.

YES, I have been saying this for a while. Go back to basics and do it well; and resist being too trendy.

I hope that what's coming is the BIGGEST behind the scenes reboot of the Bond franchise yet. Generally speaking, I think the more Bond regulars are not asked back this time, the better. Bond needs a BIG shake up.

I am an original Bond fan. Connery remains my favorite Bond, but I agree. It doesn't make sense to bring back Craig's supporting cast. We don't need the old group living in another timeline in which there wasn't a previous Bond who got killed. Yes, Judi Dench transitioned quite nicely between two Bonds, but I am tired of hearing that. Been there, done that. Blow it all up and start again.

I’ve been saying that even before NTTD came out.

The new Bond should truly start anew.

I would accept Ralph Fiennes back as M as long as he was Sir Miles. I'm just scared more and more that Purvis and Wade are truly coming back. NOTHING needs to change more than the writing for Bond. I still think that Anthony Horowitz should be allowed to pitch some ideas.

Has there been any more movement on the production company? Wasn't that how we found the placeholder title "Bullets For Winter"
