As jetset says, the article is meaningless.

It is not, as he raises good points, tbf.

As already pointed out; he doesn't. No offence to him, but it's simply not true that the frontrunner never gets it.
He has also never been present when a Bond actor was being cast, and is unlikely to be this time.

What he says changes nothing, it's just something he thought of to say on the spur of the moment because he was on live telly. It's just as likely to be/not be ATJ as it was before.

Do you understand the definition of tends? You're again making things up.

'tends'? As in 'actors tend to have to think of anything on the spot to say to One Show presenters'?

What am I making up exactly?

The No Time To Die star told The One Show: “I always feel slightly bad for the people who are being highlighted because that never tends to be them. They are very good at keeping the real person secret. I’d be interested to see who does take over, obviously, but it tends not to be the frontrunner, that’s historically [how it has been].”

@Denbigh He never ruled him out though, you guys are going in too hard on this one. The man said tends and he's right, historically speaking.

Anyway, next. Onto the next "frontrunner". We have a long time to go, I reckon.

If ATJ does get chosen, I can’t wait to see your reaction on here. 😜

Cool I'm such a factor in your life you actually care. Quite the compliment.

Regarding ATJ, I'd give him a shot. My hopes wouldn't be very high however.

Yes, when you break it down, Kinnear was about as neutral and diplomatic as he could be in the circumstances (ie. put on the spot on live tv). As others have said, there's no reason he'd be privy to any discussions and if he's heard anything at all, it's very unlikely to be from BB or MGW directly. Nothing he said suggested that he knows anything more than we do, tbf.

The janitor at EON has more actual inside information.

Now do we know who this guy is and how to contact him?

    :))
Or the guy who’s sweeping the air. He knows stuff ;)

Actually, the next Bond will be about a group of janitors that have infiltrated Bond's life from an early start, an evil organisation much worse than SP, THE JANITORS! They have been monitoring Bond's every move since 1962. They have people everywhere. Hotel lobbies, restaurants, museums, you name it. They pulled the true strings on Bond's life, even manipulating his foster brother into becoming brofeld. They've been behind it all forever. Actually, there are some who believe they coerced Fleming himself in 1955 to write the damn thing. And if you think EON doesn't actually mean Enterprise Of Nattiness, you know nothing. These folks know it all. They even know who's the next Bond, way before Babs knows. They'll tell her, with hypnosis, using the mop's constant movement. Old methods. I tell ya. All true. Why do the illuminati call themselves that? Because they're clean. Squeaky clean.

‘No Time to Die’ Helps Bond Producers Eon Post Revenues of $285 Million

Bond fans can also take heart that a new film is very much on the cards. “Looking forward, the directors anticipate the group to display continued growth and profitability whilst concentrating on the development of its next film towards its production,” the report states.

It's very safe to assume Rege Jean Page is in the running. It's between him and ATJ.

To point out... EoN does make films other than Bond. But I hope they do mean the next 007 film.

Hey, THE film, is THE film. Of course it's Bond ;) Besides, "Bond fans can also take heart..." So, yeah, Bond.

That’s how Variety interprets those words. EoN are, no doubt intentionally, more carefully worded. But I sure hope it is Bond.

Considering how EON’s other films bombed, and Daniel Craig isn’t around calling the shots, I don’t think there’s much to worry about.

I kind of wish they would get some other films up and running which did well. But maybe the directors are more winding up now.

How can we assume that? Apart from being liked in Bridgerton and having his fanbase, there's no reason to believe he's even in the running.

I kinda agree. I almost feel bad for saying it but there's something about the guy that somewhat irritates me. I think there's just a certain arrogance that comes across to me whenever I see him. Even tonight I went to see Empire Of Light, which I really recommend by the way I loved it, and his Audi advert came on and I just found myself rolling my eyes. There's not many other actors I can say that about and again I kinda feel bad saying it but I just wonder if anyone else feels the same.

He's the new Ben Affleck, for me. In the sense that I feel exactly like you describe when they "act". That being said, he's not the only mentioned contender that, if chosen, would push me away from the films completely. I would never watch a Bond film with Sopé Dírìsu, for example. Or John Boyega, Robert Pattison, Henry Golding, ... Many of the so called candidates would turn me off, for many different reasons. I would make the effort for some, I truly would. Others, nop, not a bit.

    I feel the same mate.
Watching him get angry in The Gray Man was laughable, him as Bond would be terrible, I'd hope he isn't under consideration

Is he also going to star in a horrible movie with Jennifer Lopez?

Out of interest, did anyone screentest back in '94? I can't remember hearing of anyone. Did Brosnan even do a new test that we've heard of?

With him free of his Remington Steele obligations I don’t see why another test would be necessary, for him or anyone else.

Take either of these with a pinch of salt I'd say.

Yeah it's vague but possible I guess. I'd forgotten about Neeson, I think he could have. And Mark Frankel is an interesting candidate, I don't think I'd heard of him before; seems plausible they may have tested a few then. I think it was always Brosnan's, but they had to check everything.

I'll give the next guy the benefit of the doubt until I've seen the film, but with some of the suggestions (inc. Rege Jean Page) there'd be a lot more doubt than benefit!

In the words of Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man, it's not very safe at all.

I for one would not accept him as Bond, and I doubt many others would too. He would be a terrible choice.
