  • The Tuesday BO for NTTD remained consistent, a 25% bounce up from Monday....so streaming has not really hurt it, if at all. Should still get very close to $150m by the end of this weekend.

IMHO it shows how popular Daniel Craig's tenure has been here. I include myself - have always been a Bond fan since the first TV airings in the 1980s here but Craig really made a superfan. Will be tough to top that however the franchise is in good shape here I suppose.

Latest news is that NTTD is projected to drop only a 19% its sixth weekend in NA for a $5M three days cume. It will pass the $150 million mark by Sunday.

Looks like NTTD will be digitally releasing in the UK soon (maybe next two weeks). It is on Amazon Prime’s main page.
  • I'm hoping NTTD outpaces Dune this weekend to remain at #3....Dune's been tumbling much faster. I can't argue with one of the new films though, I like that big red dog.

I loved NTTD, but I thought Dune was a better film.

NTTD is doing extremely well in Germany. Great to read. The number for GF and TB are crazy! And TSWLM knew how to attract the majority, too.

And remember: all numbers until 1989 are only from West Germany. So it's even more impressive as only 55 to 60 million people lived there, compared to 83 million in the whole of Germany today.

NTTD opened yesterday with $2.17M in Australia. I'm expecting at least a $10M opening weekend.

In Australia SF opened with $12.8M and SP with $8M. Let’s see how NTTD does, but since its Thursday cume was $2.17M is very likely it will best at least SP.

This opening is roughly double the opening of Godzilla vs Kong, the Australian markets current No. 1 film of 2021 with $19.1M.

In the UK Bond enters the weekend with £91.1M. Let’s see if it manages to surpass Avatar by Sunday. Anyway it will 100% become the third highest grossing film ever in the UK. Insane!

We’re in for an astonishing $780M final gross. Would’ve been $800M without those bloody unpredictable shut downs in China.

    Never.
Those numbers will not be published.
  • Not sure about that final $100m in the tank when the biggest markets are in single-digit territory....definitely around 707m by the end of the weekend though....will be glad to see it pass 750 next

According to The Numbers, NTTD is only losing 140 theaters this weekend, and will play at 2,867. The VoD release is not impacting upon it negatively, as it's still expected to be in the Top 4 movies this weekend.

The VOD release is crap anyway, nothing beats seeing it in the theater. It's a Bond movie.

Exactly. It will pass $750M easily.
  • The 4k 'crap' still looked great on my big bedroom telly and no annoying ringtones or people talking on their damn phones.

Still a good choice for those not comfortable with cinemas just yet....

Interesting. I wonder if there was already a distribution rights fee that was paid up front by streaming services; so that is in contract and the numbers from there are on the books of Apple, Amazon, YouTube, etc.

Digital streaming services rarely publish numbers. Only instances I can think of are when Disney+ bragged about how BLACK WIDOW got $80m during the weekend.
  • Might be in the Bond producer's interest to mention streaming revenue at some point, if only to silence the haters who keep saying it needs zillions to break-even.

Even if NTTD initially loses money, the entire Bond franchise is a money-making machine....
