    That guitar! Lovely!

Softer, not quite as "twangy" as recent versions. Love it!

Your note went out before your finished typing, methinks. Did you mean to compare the plot -- as understood to be -- for NTTD with 2003's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ? a/k/a The Film Which Got Sean Connery to Quit Screen Acting ? Of course, that does not make it sound like a film anyone would want to see. By the way -- I enjoy TLOEG...is it OK to refer to the film ONLY by its initials ? It is not a Bond film, but it does have Sean Connery in it. Hmmm...so should be we refer to WOS, M, TU, TH, TO, FF, E, TA, TR, FK, JC, RS, MM, H, TRH, THFRO, IJATLC, TP, TNOTR, WIR, TB, O, C, M (uh oh...another "M"), TGTR, ABTF, RAM, TMWWBK, TWATL, MOTOE, Z, TAT, TMM, TRT, S, AFM, TLD (no, NOT T Dalton's first Bond film), DOATLP (or would that be DO'GATLP ?), ATAP, and so on ? Hmm...I think not.

LOL...I had a thought a few days ago and erased it but it came back into the post accidentally. I was thinking what you said, yes: there are some plot similarities to League.

Not entirely related to NTTD, but this got an 👀 out of me

Someone mentioned that Safin is of Japanese and Russian descent. I remember one factor of the Boyle treatment was the villain being Russian. Perhaps there's a connection there

Maybe Danny Boyle will get a special thanks in the credits.

He should. If Colin Trevorrow could get a story credit for The Rise of Skywalker, Boyle should get one for NTTD

I think the credits have been finalized for NTTD, unfortunately for him. A lot of writers could have been credited for the screenplay, apart from the four that are.

Sounds like the original Bond theme mixed with David Arnold's version.

Both trailer 1 and 2 released on a Thursday, safe to assume the upcoming trailer is next Thursday?

Makes sense, because in some countries new movies get released on thursdays, in the UK and US on fridays.
And "Shang-Chi" is opening next weekend, so it would be good to have the new NTTD trailer attached to that.

Yeah, the little sting at 0:15 definitely gives off David Arnold vibes

According to Paul Duncan, NTTD has the potential to be in the top 5 of the saga

I think every new bond film has the potential to be a top 5 entry before it's released.

    Questiion is:

does he say this based on the script and his set-visits.

Or was he part of the crew, who got to see the finished movie in early 2020? (like Lea Seydoux etc.)

    Lucky B.

Of course he has his own agenda, pushing the sales of Taschen's new B. Archives NTTD edition - definitely going to buy it. Already had, but they postponed it until October.

But I hope his instinct and enthusiasm are real.

I can see it being top 5. I defiantly see this movie being better than Spectre and maybe sky fall. CR? might be hard to top that will see

True. But as @Contraband has pointed out: Duncan is legit. No, he hasn't seen the film, but he's seen enough of the production to make a good guess on its quality.

My hopes are high, especially now that people are raving about the nine minutes shown at CinemaCon.

  • I’ll be perfectly happy if it makes it into my top 10, and I’m feeling pretty good about its chances there considering every Craig film minus Spectre is currently in there. I’ll wager it being less of a hit with the general public (not in box office terms, since that’s already assured unfortunately) than Skyfall but a bigger hit with Bond fans. I don’t think it will reach Casino Royale level for most fans, and I think it will be a long time before anything does.

I'll be satisfied if it stays above my bottom 5.
Should be easy, but some Bonds that were in my top half have occasionally made their way down. Some happen to be Craig era films.

Since the first trailer I felt we were in for something special but in the end everyone has its on opinion so I couldn’t care less about Duncan.

EDIT: Obviously it’s always a good thing and it’s encouraging when there are such positive vibes around a project.

Total shot in the dark, but does anyone here subscribe to this film magazine?

Definitely not Bond-related, but what are everyone's thoughts on the David Lynch Dune film? I read the book before watching it and honestly it wasn't as bad as I heard. A bit rushed, but I think they captured some of the good elements of the book

Only Lynch feature I haven't seen haha, I should fix that sometime. Enjoy all his other films, more or less — less of a fan of "Lost Highway" than others.

I'm a fan of Lynch, but him saying he considers it a failure and that it isn't the film he wanted to make, has put me off watching it..
I should give it a watch though. Haven't read the book so can't be disappointed on that front.

I feel like top 5 is a weird thing to say. If the film was incredible wouldn’t you be like, it has potential to be the best bond film ever?

In a way, I think he alludes to that by saying people need to take it "seriously" and pointing out how they are putting it at a festival.

When I learned something about filmmaking, when I was working myself in that business. You cannot guess on the quality of the finished product by the script or being on set.
You can have the best script, a fantastic read turning into a shitty movie, if the timing/editing etc. doesn't work.

So of course he can say: It's a fantastic script. But if the movie will live up to that, only people who actual saw the film can say.

Not much but this is apparently the Cave of Poetry scene in Maratea/Italy, Lea or her stunt double in the water. Some crew member posted it on Insta a long time ago.

VA is usually on the money with what he reports. This matches up to what MGM people would say in the trades each delay, which basically was "this movie is really really good".

"No Time to Die" best picture nominee incoming 😂

Broccoli also mentioned last year that she thinks Cary has directed “one of the best Bond films ever”. I think this film could be a modern-day OHMSS but also quite polarizing to some fans.
