I think LADIES FIRST during the tank chase should have been used. That would have been hilarious.
    Just kidding....... carry on.............

Ladies First should replace the Bond theme in all future films. Make it the title song for every film too.

Just had it pointed out to me that Zimmer's MI2 score has popped up on Spotify: it wasn't there previously, so that's good news.

That's handy. It'll be happening as NTTD is released in cinemas.

Dunno, if this is anything but I spoke to someone who knew of some of the development into Zimmer's score.

Apparently it was a 'dream' come true for Zimmer and that he had his own version of a Bond theme in mind for years. Apparently, it's not a variation on the Monty Norman theme, but a brand new theme by Zimmer.

Supposedly the new 'theme' will appear in the film alongside the traditional Monty Norman theme but they are two distinct pieces of music.

It seems in keeping with Zimmer who developed brand new themes for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. But I guess we will get a new NTTD-focused theme.

Thanks so much for this piece of information. Zimmer is an amazing composer and I am so looking forward to hearing what he has in store for No Time To Die.

Ta. Interesting information. I can't wait to hear what Zimmer has done. A new theme for Bond? Very interesting. If Zimmer does a good job, I hope he returns for the next one so we can hear more of this new theme.

In terms of the Monty Norman theme, these days I only like to hear it in the gunbarrel sequence and subtle bits of it in other parts of the film. I think it's too well known now to play it in it's full length and all it's glory for action sequences. It takes me out of the film. Oh, at the end when the credits are rolling is okay but I still prefer what Barry did for TLD, having a different end song (with a vocalist) to the main theme song for the end credits.

Zimmer is no John Barry or John Williams but he does come up with some very memorable, catchy tunes.

Dan Romer podcast, where apparently he does say something about what happened with NTTD https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/9-dan-romer-was-lured-by-the-creative-freedom-of-film-music/id1357882784?i=1000533063480

edit: OK so it's not much near the end...around 11 mins before the end. Says he will still continue working with Fukunaga (when he worked on NTTD it was just him and Cary) and that the situation was amicable in the end and that 'everyone just had to do what they had to do'. And to a certain degree he was sensing that he wasn't gonna stick with the project...

Doubt it happens but would love to one day hear his score for the film.

I think all he recorded was a suite, I don’t think he got to actually make music for any specific scenes.

Yeah not much info (all we really learn is that he got replaced, which we knew); it's mostly about him being wary of that happening and dealing with it and mainly the guy with the deep voice talking more than his guests :D

It would be cool to hear his suite at least. That happens from time to time: a composer will release to their fans music that the studio isn't planning on releasing officially.

Not too much detail but this recap makes note that Zimmer does some cool things with the soundtrack after the bomb blast and that the soundtrack sounds “very cool and very Bondian”

One thing composers tend to do with discarded works is just use it on a different project. John Barry ended up leaving THE GOLDEN CHILD due to creative differences, but would later use that material he wrote for that film and utilize them in THE SPECIALIST.

I’ll be honest not a big fan of the NTTD gunbarrel music.. Just too slow . When I saw Spectre in theaters it was perfect and very in your face. Got you hyped.

Not a big fan of it either but then again I prefer it when they use the main guitar riff a-la Goldfinger.

Yeah, I get that the closing fanfare definitely fits and makes sense to some extent, but I do just prefer the riff. I'm wanting someone to do that key change(?) as in the FYEO one again: that was brilliant.

I wonder if it's the GoldenEye videogame that makes them want to use the fanfare? :D

Now if only our cars still had cassette players. They don’t even have CD players anymore on new cars. A crying shame! Many of us still listen to things on our physical media.

Interesting. I didn't have that reaction. I could tell a difference; Zimmer's track is richer, a little more emphasis on strings. And Marr's guitar has an almost dreamlike, hypnotic quality to it.

The snippet sounds great. Definitely an improvement from Newman.
