Doesn't really have mileage for the next, say, 50 years, does it? Bond has moved with the times, but to make him a permanent foil in his own franchise seems like a mighty sacrifice for such a prestigious franchise to have to make. Is there any evidence to suggest people don't like Bond being the way he is, and always has been? As far as I can tell, nothing has changed. People go to see Bond precisely because he is the way he is.

I'm not quite sure what it is that you want, then. Unless I'm mistaken (and I apologise if I am); you're against the character fundamentally changing, but also against the character staying the same while changing the world around him, which is something they've been doing for nearly three decades now. Is there a middle ground here that I'm not seeing? What is the alternative to those two that is also not a fundamental change to the series in itself?

As far as Indiana Jones goes, I'm sure it'll be pretty consistent with the previous entries. Considering who the director is, the focus will be on strong characters, just like all good storytelling.

I'll post a response in the appropriate thread...

    4K Trailers...

For some reason IGN are showing the 4K Trailers in 1080p which defeats the purpose.

Interesting stuff. Both look like worth additions.

I can only assume Harrison ford will be heavily CGI-ed over to look younger in the movie.

Yeah I think with Indy you don't really need to mess with the art much. As you say, the second one is looking better.

I can't place the image which Crusade is using on the steelbook cover..?

Nice of them to release the Indiana Jones trilogy in 4k.They even included a free drink coaster called Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull!

That's so sweet of them to do! Very important as you watch the only three films that currently exist of the Indiana Jones series.

In interviews during her involvement with NTTD Phoebe seemed very comfortable with the character of Bond. I didn’t get the slightest impression that she minded him being a womanizer as long as the women we’re consenting. I don’t anticipate Jones’ romantic/exploits being an element in this film.

PWB is only ‘woke’ (and I hate that term) because she seems to believe in writing strong roles for both men and women. I’m not sure what’s supposed to be upsetting about that.
If you sat these anti-wokesters down in front of Raiders and told them it had been made in 2021 they’d all have taken to Twitter to vent their fury by the time we see Marion drinking a guy twice her size under the table. It’s just boring.

I agree about a lack of romance for Indy in this one, doesn’t seem likely. Beyond a bit of affection for his wife perhaps.

If you convinced those small pricked anti-woke folks that GE was made in 2021, HOOBOY would they rail against the film once Judi Dench calls Bond a “sexist misogynist dinosaur”.

Then point out to them that a woman is the producer and they’ll foam at the mouth and post hundreds of YouTube videos about how Broccoli and Kathleen Kennedy teaming up would mean the apocalypse.

Fears about Kennedy’s and Broccoli,s products are all justified.... albeit for different reasons. PWB is talented, however anyone whose seen Solo and her SJW droid character are also justified in having concerns

The Bluray boxset of the Indy Films is great it sits next to my Bond50 Boxset on my movie room mantel piece.

I am repeating myself though I find 4K Boxsets and art work very disappointing.

If Fleming had met PWB he’d totally try sleeping with her after a lengthy discussion.

If she had her nails cut short, and a rather boy-ish behind, he'd have fallen for her, for sure. Seriously, though, while he did bother to put some variety among the ladies in the books, the "leads" often were described as smart, sassy (ie, take no BLEEP), generally capable and tough

“Boy-ish behind” is such a strange way to phrase a woman’s rear, but maybe I’m just far too young to understand that idiom. It’s also in TRUE LIES.

If you read the Fleming books, you'll see that the things I listed all were used by Fleming more than once.

I think it all tied in with Fleming's idea of the body and grooming habits of an athletic woman.

Nice! Love the fact we're gonna get a female villain alongside Mikkelsen, and Shaunette seems like she'll be great in the role. I cannot wait for this film.

They are both too opinionated, and mouth off too much.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not looking forward to an elderly Indy limping through an adventure.

I just discovered him last week with that video. I really enjoy him! This is why I’m happy that Scarlett Johansson isn’t going to be in it. She is like PWB: too PC, not a good actress, above all too overexposed.
