    Nah. While I feel Purvis and Wade need a big break from the franchise, their successes with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace tells me that the failures in DAD lie with Lee Tamahori.

    I'm not really a fan of QOS, and with CR they had the book for the basic story and had Paul Haggis helping.

    I don't think we can fairly judge who's fault the failures in DAD were.

    @LivingRoyale Brosnan shouldn't have returned after The World Is Not Enough for one thing, for me, looked simply inappropriate for the part by the early 2000s, or 21st Century even, to put it another way, I will always remain adamant on that. Also, the inclusion of cringeworthy CGI effects, lame concepts, awful characters, we could go on all day. Tamahori takes his share of responsibilites as the director who handled that years release, but it wasn't all his own work that the film was the mess it was. Feels like a 'berate Die Another Day' session after just two posts, but that's how it is

    @Baltimore_007 Tamahori must've had a part in it sure, I think when he's given a big budget film like Bond or XXX he goes overboard with the CGI, but I think he is talented (I loved Devils Double), and alot of the blame has to go to the screenwriters, Babara and MGW, etc.

    Disagree on Brosnan leaving after TWINE, even though I think he would've gone out on a high with that one. I reckon he could've done one or two more after DAD. Not CR, he was too old for that, but one or two more down to earth films from him would've been great.

    For sure would of left on a high, as I genuinely believe that The World Is Not Enough was his best work, it just seemed in the three subsequent years until his next release, had simply aged a little too much or just appeared inappropriate, or a little out of sorts/shape for the part by then, see Connery in Diamonds as a prime example

    I haven't seen much of Tamahori's other work, but if it appears that CGI is something of a forte for him, or requirement, then he should never have been allowed near a Bond project in the first place

    DAD was his first big film I think, he'd just done smaller films before that. I think because of how big the film was he got carried away and went overboard with the CGI. I saw a film called The Devils Double and I was dead suprised when I found out he directed it, it was really good and had basically no CGI.

    I think when he does big action films like DAD or XXX he just gets carried away.

    Let's hope on the basis of that, that John Woo never gets an opportunity to handle a Bond release or put things together...

    I understand MGW had several cameos in Skyfall, although his 'main' was cut, I think i've spotted one of the others. Although someone on here may already have found it...

    When Tanner is driving Bond to the new digs, and the car goes through a gate and down a curved ramp (where the two guards with guns are standing), MGW, I think, can be seen walking along the pavement to the left, he's wearing a grey/beige coat, can't quite remember, and a flat cap I think.

    Keep an eye out.

    well spotted jaguar your right on the money wilson does turn up in them places hes like where is wolly i think him going to go wilson spotting see if you missed any ill let you know if there is any just another excuse to watch them again will keep you all posted lol

    I think I spotted Wilson over Tanner's shoulder, when he opens a door and informs M it's time for them to leave the agents' funeral.

    A collectors item here for all MGW cameo fans. I was just watching The Program (the film about Lance Armstrong's downfall) and who should pop up as the doctor who tells Lance he has stage 3 testicular cancer??

    I genuinely thought MGW only did a Hitchcock in Bond films as a bit of fun but here he is in an actual part with about 5 lines. I have to say I find it a bit baffling - is he trying to forge an acting career? IMDB doesnt list EON or him as being involved with the production so did he just do it for a mate? But then who is interested in seeing an MGW cameo except the likes of us?

    Nonetheless with no sign of B25 on the horizon at least Bond fans who only like the series for MGW's cameos have something to tide them over.

    There was interview with Frears around the time of the release of The Program where he was asked about this. He mentioned that it was done as a favour.

    Wilson has also commented on it. I think he said something to the effect that it was done for a bit of fun. Frears thought it would be funny for him to cameo in something aside the Bond films.

    Wilson has stated that his cameos are so-called "lucky charms" in the film. Personally, I always look forward to them. Though I'm not overly enthused by Gregg Wilson popping up. It just feels a little forced. We get that he's trying to follow in his father's footsteps but sometimes I think the Bond films need to veer away from tradition and do something innovative and new.

    But whatever. They're 5 second cameos, so I'm really bitching about nothing.

    A bit disconcerting if he's going to take the reins. Or is it? Would we rather have an MGW clone or someone with his own ideas? I think I'd take the former as I dont want some young guy coming up with more creative new notions along the lines of stepbrothergate.

    007’s twitter posted a comprehensive video of Wilson’s cameos, along with his son Gregg. Oddly, they skip over Mike’s in AVTAK and SF.

    I always had fun being able to spot him when first seeing the films in theaters. At least the ones where he’s just passing by or way off in the background.

    I didn’t notice Greg Wilson in NTTD, so I had wondered if he simply skipped out until that video pointed him out.
