It's kind of like the Gideon Bibles you find in hospitals and hotel rooms etc. Only in this case it is in the cause of the spreading awareness about the Bond Continuation! I think I remember you saying you did this already with other spy books etc.?

Yes - if I get a duplicate Bond cheaply (and this is rare these days) I add it to the stash so I can take one on holiday with me and leave it if I find a take a book/leave a book shelf.

Can't wait to be out and about in the world doing that again!

Yes, I think that's a really great idea. Given the amount of duplicates I have of some of the Bond novels in my collection I'm sure I could do the same. The trouble is I'm never staying in hotel rooms!

I also agree with your point about rarely getting Bond books cheaply nowadays. Gone are the days of the 1990s or early 2000s when I first bought a lot of my secondhand Bond paperbacks. Books were mostly dirt cheap back then. That can't really be said of books today though. That said, I do tend to buy Bond books if I see them as long as they're not at prohibitive prices! ;)

Yes, it's a nice memory for some of us. I bought my first set of Flemings, well most of them, back at a second-hand book store next to a hotel I was staying at in the early '80s. Also picked up my first TV Avengers novel there too. I've been lucky to still pick a few up here and there. It was very easy to get a set or near one back then.

Not sure where everyone is from, but in the U.S. we have bookstores called Half Price Books that mix bulk newer books and used books and you can still find some Bonds for a good price, although some go for anywhere from $1-$3 for so-so copies. Always plenty of abused copies of Gardner titles. I've actually got a couple books for half of the original cover price of the '60s Signet series. One of the best such purchases were 3 near-mint copies of the Snelling book "OO7: A Report."

If you're an XS, XL, or XXL, Billy Reid is doing a huge discount final sale on the Bond Peacoat from Skyfall.

Detail is less defined on the porcelain NTTD bulldog, when compared to the previous releases, and thinner shell too. Still, very nice prop though, and not an issue if, like myself, you were purchasing one for the first time.

The dbs in NTTD would be something that would be nice to buy in 1:18.
Hopefully another company makes it with more detail unlike the hot wheels db10 which looks cheap.

Can't help but feel Royal Daulton are milking the product placement a bit too much. The Skyfall and Spectre pieces were good but can't see what a NTTD release adds.

That link's not working for me but if I were you I'd go straight to the Royal Mint for your Bond coin needs: https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/events/james-bond/

    If it's the regular £5 coin it's cupro-nickel and priced at £13: https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/events/james-bond/5-pound-brilliant-uncirculated-three-coin-series/

Hi, new here (introduced myself earlier) but I though it worth mentioning that B & M Bargains stores in the UK (at least my local one on Morecambe Bay promenade) are selling the 007 Signature Fragrance, 75ml bottles for just £1.99 at the moment. Picked 3 up for my own personal use.
