With all the delays, all the changes that are about to happen in the industry, and EON's slow pace lately, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get Bond 26 till 2025. Or 2026.

    Agreed.

Looks like an old CD tray. Is it burnt? I think it's just in shadow.

Definitely looks burnt out to me. I'm more interested in the Star Trek chess set.

Where are you seeing burns? I thought it was a load of tools rather than a chess set but I guess some of them would be useless.

I think you’re right about the tools. If you look closely at the top left of the CD drive, you can see what to me looks like burn damage.

I think it's a shadow, but then the bit nearest the camera on the right does sort of look a bit melted so you may well be right.

One would hope so I do not fancy another 6 years for a new 007 movie

I'm not convinced that is a chess set. There are too many different shaped pieces.

Can anyone identify the brand of the burnt CD drive, it has cut-out lettering on the front panel, with a little capital 'A' perhaps, and large 'E'.

I think the front panel lettering is actually just the vents on the drive and not any initials.

Also I do agree that that is most likely not a chess set, but we have not seen anything quite like them in any of the other promotional material.

Sorry guys I was joking about the chess set, it’s very likely not that. Likely a set of tools like was previously mentioned, or some other gadget.

Yes, it does remind one of a chess set, without a doubt. Of course the parts in the photo do not coincide with actual chess pieces.

Instead of chess players: how about injection needles, maybe as part of Q:s mobile lab?

Potentially, but I don't think this particular location is Q's mobile lab because you can see what looks like a brick column behind him.

No I meant just the needles going in some form of case, not the location he's at.

That's true. I'm guessing it'll be on the airplane that also holds Bond and Nomi's glider.

That's probably it. It's probably the minilab mentioned a while ago that Nomi is given.

If only they'd throw us a bone. A new poster. Something. It's not as though the producers make the posters themselves. They could have a new Bond centric poster come out with a new Zimmer tracker. Fans would be so happy.

I think much has to do with if November is still a feasible date...they aren't going to start up the marketing until its clear November is close to a certainly. Currently, it's close to 50/50 if it'll make that date or be pushed into 2021.

There is clearly a 'cut off' date where Eon/MGM need to make that call....I suspect it'll be sometime in August. But much will happen between now and then. I think everyone is loking towards Warner Bros and Disney to see how they handle their releases for July/August before committing with any date in 2020.

On top of all that, you have the VOD question, which is due a new experiment in the form of 'King of Staten Island' soon; a trailer for which has just dropped (it's a Universal release as well). I imagine Eon/MGM will want to see those numbers regardless if their intention is to pursue a theatrical release:

In short, we aren't getting any new marketing until its clear that the pandemic has subsided. Remember, there's a very real chance we will be locked down till next year regardless of what the governments saying..........

I think the likeliest worst case scenario is a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, causing most of the world to start another round of lockdown by October/November 2020, making the current release date of NTTD impossible to hold.

I still believe there won't be any new wide releases in theaters until 2021. A combination of the pandemic, the high risk of a second wave, a huge portion of the world-wide workforce losing their jobs, social distancing measures and a lack of people willing to go to cinemas will make studios delay every movie release until 2021.

A Bond film won’t ever come out directly on VOD. Especially the biggest one ever and the last of the most successful actor in the role since Connery’s golden age. If it’s not 2020 it will be 2021.

Cinemas in some european countries re-open over the next couple of weeks:
    7 May (yesterday): Norway
    9 May: Germany (some states)
    11 May: Czech Republic
    15 May: Germany (some states)
    18 May: Germany (some states)
    30 May: Germany (some states)
    8 June: Switzerland, Denmark
I believe more countries will announce dates in the coming days/weeks.

I believe Sweden and Belarus never shut down cinemas.

I doubt they will have to make another decision until end of September when they have to decide if they're going to spend the $$$ on the marketing. Presumably all the prints are sitting in a vault having been prepped for the original April release.

If they can keep the movie safe out of hands of the internet, if a copy floats on the internet they will probably have little choice,

We are starting to open up here in Arizona. We'll see what happens. Far too soon, imho.

My fear is that with summer temps around 110, the virus's spread will slow and everyone will get a false sense of security. Then, in October: Wham!

Re: The possible Q Chess set - the way the pieces are positioned makes me think it is a custom chess set of 'world towers' rather than anything Star Trek (but that's just my take). I guess we'll all find out - er - sometime... er - hopefully... ;)

Adding to that, Bond has his own chess set in Jamaica. So who is playing who.

    Definite product placement opportunity there.

Well a Star Trek chess set would be three dimensions. At least.

Still it's been referred to as a chess set elsewhere, short of a definite ID.
