    I imagine of this film were shot today, we might have gotten a yellow filter look throughout like SPECTRE.
    The newest film seems to have a turquoise look.

    Bond arrives at Auric Stud. I love this section of the film, though it does seem to have it's detractors.

    I wonder how fans would have felt if Boyle's idea of Bond being imprisoned throughout most of NTTD had played out ?

    Enjoying it so much I'm barely commenting. At the climax.
    This has been an amazing screening.

    My only two issues: the hoodlum's convention is full of embarassingly awful acting and dialogue, and the killing of Mr. Solo scence is long and boring.

    I don't mind Bond being captured and "imprisoned" for most of it because he is scheming and maneuvering the whole time and it provides some opportunities for good dialogue between Bond and Goldfinger.

    That whole section at Kentucky does drag a lot, but GF has so many wonderful scenes and a classic villain, you do overlook it! TLD comes in for a lot of criticism for the Afghanistan section, (not for me,) but it does have better visuals!

    Took a hiatus with my Bond marathon, but now I'm on to Tomorrow Never Dies.

    I think this might be my favourite gunbarrel in the whole series; the perfection of the GoldenEye gunbarrel, with the classic Bond music.

    There are elements from Surrender in the music when the fight breaks out at the terrorist bazaar. Prefer that song to the main theme.

    Love that they recast Gupta as an American, but kept his Indian name. Good PTS, love the Robinson character, and the tension with Roebuck at MI6, but still prefer the GoldenEye PTS.

    The pilot in the other jet in the dogfight looks familiar... like he appeared in another Bond film. I'll have to check up on this later.

    The XRay conceit in the titles sequence is pretty cool actually.

    This song is a little better than I give it credit for. I have a 007 playlist on Spotify that omits this song in favour of Surrender, but I might have to include it after all.

    Samantha Bond, Michael Kitchen / Colin Salmon, Llewellyn, and Dench are my favourite Whitehall Brigade, all told. Obviously Lee / Maxwell / Llewellyn are the OGs, but there's something about the chemistry with Pierce's crew that really speaks to me.

    "Outstanding" megalomaniacal Villain monologue, Bond theme throughout, and just after the briefing, so far TND is a very fun Bond romp.

    TND strikes me as one of the more violent Bond films, starting with Bond throwing the man into the printing press, and having all the blood come up on the newspaper. A couple other instances I can remember are the torture implements Stamper uses, as well as throwing Carver into the sea drill.

    Lots of Bond theme throughout the soundtrack in this film, love it.

    As a new member, I feel obligated to do some sort of watch through. And what better film to do than my recently recorded Casino Royale?

    I appreciate the fact they set the PTS in black and white; it really does set it in a new era from DAD.

    The intro of White and Le Chiffre is great. Something I really like about the latter is that he is very explicitly not at the top of the chain. He gets threatened, beat up and eventually killed by antagonists far greater than him, and I think it gives him an interesting sense of vulnerability.

    Bond vs Mollaka (the bomb maker) is a great showcase for Craig. He gets bloodied, bruised and held at gunpoint, yet still pulls off a cold kill at the end of the sequence. Especially after the fantastical Brosnan era, it's nice that Bond feels like a human being again.

    Judi Dench was great in her first 4 films, but it's the Craig era where she really takes off for me. I'm glad EON kept her on for the Reboot.

    The Bahamas section is where the pacing takes a hit, admittedly, but it's still enjoyable. Seeing Bond win the Aston Martin in particular is nice, and Bond's fling with Solange contrasts well with his genuine relationship to Vesper later on.

    The film once again picks up for me in Miami. Another great action sequence, and one where Craig really showcases his physicality.

    The first scene between Bond and Vesper is pure gold. The character info is anything but expository, The dialogue is quick and fun, the chemistry immediate. The only flaw is the bloody Omega product placement.

    Giancarlo Giannini is absolutely the perfect Mathis. The only thing I'd criticise is the lack of clarity around his maybe-loyal, maybe-double agent status at the end of CR, although I understand how it serves Bond's character.

    As someone on knows nothing about Texas Hold 'Em, it's a testament to the film that the card game is as engrossing and easy to follow as it is.

    The Obanno fight and the resulting shower scene is probably my favourite scene in the whole film. It just...works.

    I do like how, at the start of the torture scene, Bond is almost in fear and Le Chiffre is totally in control. Then, as it goes on, the dynamic reverses. Even when Bond thinks Vesper is being tortured, he refuses to give up the information. In contrast, Le Chiffre gets more and more scared.

    It's kind of ironic Bond and Vesper's relationship ends tragically in Venice, "the city of love".

    And so ends my favourite film in the series! Overall still a 9/10 in every area. I'll rewatch QOS tomorrow, see if I feel differently about it when watching it straight after CR.
