    Thanks. Thought about posting it in my fanart thread but it'll get more views here. I watched OHMSS last night, first time in a fairly long while. There are so many reasons why the film works so well and is held in high esteem by most of us, but for me the big thing that I thought about last night as I watched it was the relationship between Bond and Tracy. I love their back and forth and humor. Even up to moments before she's killed, I enjoy their repartee so much that I just want to stop the movie there. It's easily the best relationship in the film series, somehow even better than Bond and Vesper in my favorite 007 film, Casino Royale.

    That’s really well done.

    When I logged on to my Spotify account earlier today, I noticed that one of my suggested “Daily Mix” playlists consisted of Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Morricone, Maurice Jarre, Akira Ifukube and ….. John Barry. I immediately went for “We have all the Time in the World.” It takes very, very little to get me in the mood to re-watch or listen to the score for OHMSS. There is just something about it.

    I’ll – again – make my monthly appeal to EON: Can we please have a limited 4K re-release of OHMSS?!

    Just watched my annual Xmas viewing of OHMSS and George is so very bloody good in it! I think my fave bit is the barn scene. Wonderful stuff and Diana Rigg is so sexy. Fur and black underwear? Oh yeah... 😍

    Oh, yes, I concur fully.
    And George is so not given enough credit, he does a great job. Love the "resignation" sequence, he and Bernard Lee are very good here.
    Can't wait to watch this Xmas day. Am currently reading Cinema Retros special issue to get me in the mood.

    Hey guys - Recently, the worst aspects of the tabloid press have taken some words of mine out of context. I'd like to correct the sentiments I allegedly expressed.
    For the record, I have never given a recent interview to the UK's Daily Star or Daily Mail tabloids.
    More importantly, as an 80 year old man, I commented on changing societal attitudes. The misleading headline ignores my main point: it's not a bad thing, just different.
    I was the son of a smart, strong woman who raised me with equality with an independent sister. I have been married twice to very smart, intelligent women. I have 3 incredibly smart, intelligent daughters.
    I worked in the fashion industry in the 1960s, a place where women led men in terms of career and progress and pay.
    As somewhat of a hippie in the late Sixties and early Seventies, I fully supported and cheered on the female emancipation movement from the Patriarchy.
    Of course things have changed and so they should. Bond was once described, correctly, as a "sexist, misogynist dinosaur." I may be a dinosaur but it would miss the point to describe me as the other words.
    I have huge respect and admiration for all genders. At a time when we are seeing we have far to progress on equality, I hope I can be known as The Spy Who Loved #MeToo. -George x

    Now, he writes that incredible statement.

    His acting was weak in some scenes but improved a lot with other scenes. The best acting scene from his was when he was trying to convince M to attack the Piz Gloria and the wedding scene. I don't think Connery would have been able to pull it off. He was a strong guy in real life and he is stronger than every bond except for Connery and Craig. If he would stayed as James Bond, I think he would have been the best James Bond.

    Agree. I don't think On Her Majesty's Secret Service would've been better with Connery. Connery's portrayal of Bond is without question the definitive cinematic Bond, but to me Lazenby is the Bond of the books. Connery's depiction of Bond lacked the vulnerability to pull off OHMSS, IMO. Connery's Bond is one that you aspire to be, whereas Lazenby's is one that you believe you could be. Bond was never a superman and I have always felt that Connery's performance was that of someone who was almost always untouchable. I always knew he was going to win in the end. George wasn't an actor and throughout the film you get the sense he is reacting to the events of the film as he would in real life. He didn't know any better. It's this quality of his performance which makes him relatable as a human and therefore extremely Fleming. I think had Connery been in OHMSS it would've been odd because the character he had established, I personally don't think would've fit into the narrative of the film. I could never envisage him falling in love and getting married.
