    I must say, lead Bond girls have been a weakness of the film series. Of the 23 lead Bond girls, I rate only 11--those listed below--as "good" or "great." The rest are "mediocre" or "poor," IMO.

    Ekland though is one of the most awesome blonde creatures to ever grace this earth, but I couldn't rank her ahead of iconic Fleming Bond girls such as Pussy, Honey and Domino who were all portrayed so well in these early classic films, by other gorgeous actresses.
    I do very much enjoy Ekland's portrayal of Goodnight. So much fun and she looks so good in every scene. She also gets feisty in parts. She and Rog play off each other real well I think. Fun to watch. The pushy, demanding, yet charming, a little ditzy blonde has an appeal. Stacey is a bit of a Goodnight knockoff. Rog plays off this type very well.
    Richards has one of the great Bond girl swish walks, and some priceless facial expressions, especially when she queries Broz about his relationship with Elektra. She is very camera friendly, and there is the camp appeal of pin-up girl as nuclear physicist.
    One of the greatest camp moments in the series though, is from Roberts prancing around in her skimpies, prattling on about geology and seismic rifts, while Rog, the perfect foil, rolls with it, playing it straight, intent on grasping the geology ramblings, while we the audience are paying no attention to the lecture, mesmerized as we are by the naughty outfit. Well done.

    Refreshing opinion. I agree with the sentiments. Particularly Denise Richards as the "pin-up girl as nuclear physicist." Perfectly put.

    Bravo! ;) The super-hot looking, more campy Bond-girls need love too. They are my personal favourites, but I generally do like my Bond on the escapist campy side.
    But the trick with good Bond camp presentation, is that it must be balanced by palpable danger and suspense too. That is the magic of Bond's world I think.
    Then you get best of both worlds, as opposed to say Flint or Helm which are both high camp but farcical - a different animal.

    @Timmer gave the right description when it comes to Christmas Jones. I never understood the attractiveness for Maud Adams. I guess for me there's a huge gap between 17 and 16, and even between 17 and 18. I don't care for the likes of Wai-Lin, but Tiffany is interesting and Severine very interesting and attractive. There the personalities start to shine (with the exception of the good Doctor). The only reason Severine is so low is her lack of screentime.

    I'll tuck Seydoux-Swann in at #24.
    I do appreciate Seydoux as Swann, and have seen many of her other movies, as a result of her Bond role, but I can't put her ahead of any of the others.
    Her best scene was her sexy evening-gown walk, down the train aisle. Otherwise nothing too Bond Girl memorable.

    It comes with my enjoyment of DAF, I guess. She's a fun character, and really entertaining! As for Swann, I really dislike that character; she offered nothing to the film, IMO.

    Agree re. Fione Volpe and Xenia Onatopp - and especially the former. If we were to include henchwomen, Volpe would rank as my number one.

    I don't undestand the general hate against Jinx and Swann. Halle Berry is very attractive. Is it her acting? Or the mouthful dialogues? And Swann? The bad character development?

    Swann has grown on me a lot. She’s not quite at the highest tier or has the best chemistry with Craig in SP, but I find her to be one of the most enjoyable parts of SP whenever I revisit it. She’s not even particularly energetic, but I think she has a very pleasant presence. I have a good feeling NTTD will elevate her more, too.

    I don't get the hate against Swann either.
    I like her character. Seydoux does a pretty good job.

    I hate Jinx because of her character. She's obnoxious. Some of it is because of the awful dialogue, yes. Berry is easy on the eyes but I don't care for her performance.

    My least fav Bond girl is probably Tiffany Case. She made so much more of an impact in the book.
