It's a good idea. The winner is obvious, though...

Sean in Dr. No would be the obvious choice, IMO. However, each actor did deliver the line in such a unique way.

I'm sure he'll win but the second and third place could be interesting.

@Slazenger7 , if we do that proposed game, this could be helpful:

It misses the one from LTK where he's interrupted mid-sentence.

Does Tim really only say it in full once in his two films?

I watched LTK yesterday and can't remember the scene?!

When he's introduced to Sanchez in the man's office, Heller interrupts him: "Please. Sit."

Craig in Casino Royale would be right up there too, IMO.

Thanks. It's a very strong scene. Bond knows how to leave an impression when he meets the villain.
@Octopussy yes, CR is a strong contender.

The Bond, James Bond elimination game will probably have an obvious result. But who knows.
Some real good deliveries of that infamous line.

Let's not forget, that we can also begin a second elimination game, as we have no active games going.

I'm going to push the envelope a tiny tad. In a way it's sacrilege but also spicy, but who doesn't like to kick the hornets nest once in a while? It could be an original idea, not sure if this elimination game was played before. It gets my blood pumping either way.

'Best Bond film story for a future remake'

No takers? Controversial, but interesting nonetheless.

Some others to consider: FRWL-Krilencu,DAF-Peter Franks. Quite a few possibilities in several films.

I was considering Krilencu too. But then again, he was never on the SPECTRE payroll. So I went with Kronsteen. After all, he's the mastermind behind the trap.

So how about a shark scene or helicopter scene game now?

Or if anyone has a better suggestion, let s hear it.

I like both suggestions although the helicopter game could be difficult...would you include the best helicopter scene from every film or action scenes only?

I don t know. Some copter scenes are just getting from A to B, and can easily be excluded. I am thinking scenes where Bond is involved and something interesting is going on. Bond arriving in a helicopter in OP for example could easily be excluded, but I am open to input.

There are enough scenes to pick from as only DN and TMTGG are without them as far as I can remember.

Yes, only DN and TMWTGG are without helicopters. As you said, I would include all scenes which are exciting (action/view/atmosphere) somehow. This means that some films would have more than one scene for the game (i.e. SP) while other films (imo) could be skipped completely (i.e. CR).

Yes, that is what I am thinking as well.

I've been toying with a game of characters with a rank. Obviously not every film has one, and some films have two or more. When I've compiled a list, I'll post it here for general thought.

I still have my unusual Bond vehicles suggestion (no cars allowed, Bond has to be in and either driving or actively assisting, unusual vehicle or something unusual happens to it etc) - I did suggest it once before but no mod made a comment so it never happened. Just something to hear in mind for a rainy day when all the other ideas have been used up.

Don't worry about a mod to comment @Max_The_Parrot if the general consensus is that it's a go, then feel free to suggest it.

Ah ok my mistake. Well this is what I came up with if anyone has any thoughts or other suggestions.

Bond has to be in control or assisting the person controlling (so eg the space shuttle is in, but Orient Express is out). I’ve tried to pick either unusual vehicles eg Little Nellie, or vehicles used in unusual ways eg Mrs Bell’s plane.

    Bell-Textron Jet pack TB
Underwater Propulsion Unit TB (alternative example would be the Tow Sled)
    Little Nellie YOLT
    Bobsled OHMSS
    Moon buggy DAF
Honda US 90 ATC 3-Wheeler DAF
    San Monique Routemaster Bus LALD
Mrs Bell’s Cessna 140 Plane LALD
    Seabee Seaplane TMWTGG
    Wetbike TSWLM
    Bondola MR
    Moonraker space shuttle MR
    Neptune submersible FYEO
Crocodile Mini-Submarine OP (referred to as Alligator Boat in BIM)
    Acrostar Jet OP
Yamaha XJ650 Turbo Seca motorbike NSNA
    San Francisco Fire Truck AVTAK
    Cello Case TLD
    Kenworth W900B Tanker Truck LTK
    T-55 Tank GE
    Q boat TWINE
    Osprey Hovercraft DAD
    Spirit 54 yacht CR
    Cat 320D Excavator SF
    Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander Airplane SP

If people like it happy to play it whenever we’ve run out of other ideas, someone just give me a prod.

    Great idea @Max_The_Parrot!
Do you think you've still got one spot free for the Iceberg sub from AVTAK or the Hercules plane from TLD?
  • Max_The_ParrotMax_The_Parrot ATAC to St Cyril’s

Thanks @GoldenGun! Yes thinking about it, I should go for the Hercules (unusual one it’s immense size) rather than the cello, as although the cello is used as transport, and is a fun little scene, it’s not designed as a vehicle and so doesn’t fit the brief.

And definitely the Iceberg sub should be there, I love that so don’t know why I didn’t think of it. Bond definitely assists thanks to the conveniently placed throttle lever next to the bed. Q was on top form designing that gadget!

So the line up could now look like this:

    Bell-Textron Jet pack TB
    Underwater Propulsion Unit TB
    Little Nellie YOLT
    Bobsled OHMSS
    Moon buggy DAF
Honda US 90 ATC 3-Wheeler DAF
    San Monique Routemaster Bus LALD
Mrs Bell’s Cessna 140 Plane LALD
    Seabee Seaplane TMWTGG
    Wetbike TSWLM
    Bondola MR
    Moonraker space shuttle MR
    Neptune submersible FYEO
Crocodile Mini-Submarine OP (referred to as Alligator Boat in BIM)
    Acrostar Jet OP
Yamaha XJ650 Turbo Seca motorbike NSNA
    Iceberg Sub AVTAK
    San Francisco Fire Truck AVTAK
    Lockheed C-130H Hercules TLD
    Kenworth W900B Tanker Truck LTK
    T-55 Tank GE
    Q boat TWINE
    Osprey Hovercraft DAD
    Spirit 54 yacht CR
    Cat 320D Excavator SF
    Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander Airplane SP

Still not sure what I’m supposed to do next, do we wait for other people to comment, does someone have to say ‘yes post it’ or do I just post it and see if it gets closed or not? I know there are other suggestions mentioned on the previous page that haven’t actually gone ahead yet as well ... 🤷

I think the general rule is that there are only two elimination games allowed at the same time. As far as I know we're only playing one at the moment, so if a good few people are interested you can go right ahead.
