    I'm sorry as classic as the Laser scene is it's not enough.

    I agree,

    GF is WAAAAY more over-rated than TB,which is a much much better film.

    As @Risico007 says,take away the lazer scene,and maybe the golf scene,and not a lot actually happens regarding Bond.

    He doesnt even save the day.
    I find it hard to believe that some people think GF is better than TB.Its almost as if if people feel obliged to say it,even if ,deep down,they dont believe that themselves !!

    I'm quite tired of the complaint of him doing nothing! He's not even captured for half the movie, and even when he is, he stills tries his best to do stuff. Leiter may have disarmed the bomb but Bond killed Oddjob still, and assisted Goldfinger in killing himself.

    TB is slow-paced, has an inferior villain, confusing and dull underwater sequences, and arguably a weaker plot. True Bond didn't disarm the bomb, but it's realistic since Oddjob kept him busy. At least they tried something new. If it weren't for Bond anyway Leiter and the others wouldn't have known about the bomb.

    Well i've never played the game and GE sits proudly at #4 on my list...actually i'm due to watch it again soon i think,been a long time.

    I apologize if my comment came across as offensive. It wasn't intended to be, in fact my comment wasn't meant to be taken that seriously.

    My point is just that, although Goldeneye is indeed a very popular film on this forum, it seems to be doing quite a lot better here than what you would expect it to within its popularity. And being number one on the list is just slightly over the top. But believe me, I know there is a lot to like about Goldeneye. I actually really enjoy it myself and it would certainly rank in the top half of my personal ranking (and I have never played the game). However with the consistent overhype that follows it, I find it difficult not to be overly critical of its flaws...

    But this is a game after all, not a serious debate, and everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course.

    @jobo I agree that it's doing better than we'd expect (I think it's clear some members are cheating here), and your comment wasn't offensive (I probably overreacted a bit to be honest, it just annoys me when people make out that everyone who likes GE only loves it because of the game.
