    It's not Bond :)

    He's releasing a book of his history podcast illustrated by Vic Reeves, which is pretty cool.

    I did wonder. I suppose there is a small link with Bond via OHM2S in that the research into the British monarchy for that podcast project ultimately fed into the plot of the novella? Who knows, maybe the Bond book will even get a brief mention somewhere? Anyway, Bond mention or not, I'll be purchasing a copy as soon as it's published. Illustrations by the brilliant Vic Reeves are a nice added selling point.

    That's great that he replied to you. That doesn't always happen with authors so it's nice when they make the effort. Sounds like he could be a good bet for a Bond film novelisation if Eon ever deigns to do one of those again in the future! Or perhaps even an original Bond novel?

    I'd support him for both types of Bond adventures. I wish that IFP would go back to a yearly release of Bond novels. Even if it means different authors. Mr. Rollins truly would deserve at least a chance.

    I actually had no idea they still did novelizations of films. That's kind of heartwarming.

    Weird coincidence i am currently reading The Last Oracle by James Rollins its good i wouldnt mind if he got a chance at writing 007

    So, obviously we can’t read too much into it, but Charlie Higson’s on BBC Breakfast promoting his new children’s book, was asked if he’s writing anything else and said he’s “working on a big project that’s secret and I’m not allowed to talk about”.

    Now obviously he’s got many irons in the fire so there’s no reason to think it definitely is Bond, but…

    Its been a few months since that ifp survey i am hoping we get an announcement that some author is going to be writing modern bond thrillers soon

    Heck i would take Benson back

    We can hope. IFP does know how to surprise us, for better or worse.

    Of late it seems that the surprises from IFP have mostly been nasty ones. Hopefully they can still surprise us in a good way too.
