I'm hoping it wasn't quality control.

It's called Goldeneye 007. Sorry it's just the way it is.

No, it's not. Thanks to Rare, MicroShaft and Nintendo not being able to sort out some rights. Same reason it's not on the XBLA.

I remember the day they announced it wouldn't be hitting XBLA. My heart cried and my excitement dissipated instantly.

We could have had a great game.
  • Besides Goldeneye N64, Nightfire would be my second favorite Bond video games.
  • Let's not forget Agent Under Fire.
  • Undefire was ok but the Bond actor annoyed me, the cloning story was stupid (why not just have advanced plastic surgery or something?) and the on foot gameplay felt like a prototype Nightfire.

The driving though was the best part of the game. Probably the best driving of the series, zooming round the pretty much open cities, picking up gadgets and taking different routes, that was great.
  • The driving style was derived from 007 Racing and the on-foot gameplay felt much like Half-Life, the way I prefer. Perhaps Bond's look was bad, but his personality was MEGA!!

Tally up another reason to hate Activision.

    GoldenEye 64 not being revamped for XBLA isn't Craptivision's fault. It's Nintendo's.

I think Activision had something to do with it though. Something to the affect of them wanting it stopped because at the time they were making GE Reloaded. I think I read that somewhere.

No it was because Nintendo and Rare were fighting over who held the rights to GoldenEye 64 and when Nintendo found out they were making an HD remake they threatened to sue Rare and so in the end. GE64 wasn't revamped for the XBLA and instead we got Craptivision Presents GoldenEye: Regurgitated. Sad really. the one thing about Nintendo I really don't like.
  • I seriously feel sorry for Phoenix Rising.

this is the only actual reference to that game. an article released over 6 months before NIGHTFIRES release.
the game redwood released was Everything or nothing. Phenox rising was a name of a level from nightfire.
there was no stand alone phoenix rising game

Actually there was a Phoenix Rising game, i believe it was a sequence to Nightfire back in 2005, but they've cancelled it due Casino Royale's development. But they've also canceled as it wouldn't be done in time for the launch of the movie.

I highly doubt they would do a sequel to a game when they had gone 3 games beyond that one. if you can find an article from the time backing it up go for it but as I said. this is a falsehood

Maybe it is. But a member here on MI6 said that there was the NF's sequel, and also the CR game in 2006. There was even an article with it (may be on this thread) with a single photo of the game.

I seen the cancelled casino royal game, but no article about nightfire sequel. if you could provide a link I'd be happy to look at it.

Bull- Rare and Microsoft had it almost finished (back in 2006/7) and they were also going to port it to the Wii but the head of Nintendo Japan forced activison to cease and desist it from happening (because they wanted Goldeneye to be an Nintendo Exclusive) and so Goldeneye Reloaded/Wii was made...from which i have a deep hatred at Nintendo and Activison for being spinless cretins
