What if Bond movies had been done at a different time ?

The demise of Michael Clarke Duncan, who I thought would have been a great Mr. Big if TPTB had decided to remade LALD, made me think. What actors would have been perfect to play Bond Villains if each movie had been made in another time period ? The same could be done for Bond Girls, BTW. So, to begin with, I'll start with LALD; If it had been made in the 60s, which actor could have played Mr. Big ?

Well, there's one name that comes to mind : Woody Strode.

Now, any other wants to add names to the list ? Remember, the premake or the remake have to be from another era than the movie itself (but after Ian Fleming wrote the novel).

Another Casino Royale with Sean in the 60s. One dreams...Though only if we can keep 2006's CR as well.

A proper adaptation of Diamonds are Forever for the Brosnan era.
    Brosnan as Bond.
    Sharon Stone as Tiffany Case.
Michael Madsen and James Gandolfini as the Sprang Bros.

I would never trade the masterpiece 63 version for this, but how about a 1940s FRWL with Cary Grant as Bond.
    Grace Kelly as Tatiana
Maybe Joseph Cotten as Red Grant? He was menacing in the film Niagara.
Though Felix wasn't in it, I would love to see him appear, with Frank Sinatra or Humphrey Bogart in the role. Something just tells me those would be good choices.

If there was ever a 40s version of CR done, keep Cary with Lauren Bacall as Vesper. That screen would steam up so much you wouldn't even be able to see the film.

You think it's a good idea? Or are you talking about Lauren? That's understandable. Her stare makes me weak in the knees.

She's absolutely brilliant, and one of the very few Golden Age Hollywood actors still alive. I would give anything to meet this woman who is a remarkable actress in her own right, but also the woman that took Humphrey Bogart's legendary hand in marriage. It would be great to hear stories about him straight from the woman who knew him best. :)

1971, For Your Eyes Only, keeping, generally, the same storyline as the '81 film. Replace Roger Moore with George Lazenby, but pretty much keep the same cast. That'd make the opening better, and I just felt that FYEO would have been better with Lazenby.

The could be a Peter Sellers Bond film in the vain of Roger's if it had to happen. I think many Roger fans would love them.

Colonel Sun 1991: (Essentially DAD but using more elements from the Moonraker Novel)
    Timothy Dalton as James Bond
    Pat Morita as Colonel Sun
    Michelle Pfeiffer as Gala Brand
John Terry as Felix Leiter. (With Prosthetic leg and hook hand.)

Basically I see the PTS similar too DAD but instead of Hovercrafts it's a Jeep chase in the jungles of China and Colonel Sun's Jeep drives over a landmine and he supposedly dies. Bond is Captured and after Licence to Kill MI6 abandons him because he's too much of a blunt instrument. But Bond gets traded for Xang A Chinese spy. After being Traded, Bond escapes from a British warship and leaves for America to seek help from Felix to clear his name and to find Xang. Bond and Felix, find out that Xang has been smuggling Weapons to a Sir Henry Lee Ching, whom is planning to start a war against England and has a nuclear weapon at his disposal. Bond finds out that Sir Henry is Actually Colonel Sun. And the film ends in an epic battle on Sun's new base.

Carole Bouquet would've been 14 then. Maybe she could've played Bibi Dahl instead?

I failed to say "keeping the same ages" as well, sorry. Okay, replace "pretty much keep the same cast" with "use a similar-looking cast".
