I like to think the true face of America, is the hundreds of people who queued to offer
Blood and assistance, and in the many people flying the rainbow flag in support. =D>

When tragedy arrives, you'd be hard pressed to find better people. The trick is making all of us come together like this when there isn't anything tragic or threatening to face; to be nice to one another just because it's what you do, and not something you feel obligated or forced into. I've always said, the way to sabotage humanity's darker, selfish nature would be to trick everyone into thinking every day was Christmas. Until that day comes, this'll just have to do.

There's been another terror attack by ISIS: A policeman and his wife have been murdered in their home in France last night. I heard about it before going to bed, but now they've confirmed it was ISIS related.

Just an update on reactions in the U. S. to the Orlando killings. The rifle used was an AR-15(civilian version of the military assault weapon-M-16). It can fire 600+ rounds per minute, with some magazines holding 100 rounds. Some gun stores are reporting hourly sales of 12 and more.

Knuckledraggers will tell you the AR-15 is a 'hunting rifle'/ They are correct. If you're hunting a man.

They need proper gun control in the USA. Now that the murderer is an Islamist maybe the NRA will finally lose the backup she usually has when it happens.

But this shooter had been known to the FBI for years, as is usually the case. Where did he get the gun? Did the FBI give it to him?

Disappointingly, some of the previous shooters were also known to authorities (whether it be health care professionals or law enforcement officials) at some time in the past. There certainly appears to be a recent pattern of these lunatics being on someone's radar at some point or another, and that applies globally.

Sad to hear that the world-famous guitarist Henry McCullough has died. He played the guitar on Paul McCartney and Wings' 'Live and Let Die'.

I once saw him in a bookshop of a good friend of his although sadly I didn't get talking to him.

Good catch! He was a favourite of McCartney's.
He played the lead guitar solo on Wings smash hit My Love, same year as LALD

RIP Gordie Howe, arguably greatest hockey player of all time. Although I think Gretzky and Orr later surpassed him, but they both defer to Howe, and he deferred to them.

Very sad to hear of the death of Mrs Jo Cox MP. Condolences to her family and friends, especially to her husband and two young children who must be hurting so very much at this time. The first UK MP to be murdered since the IRA killed some MPs in the 1980s and early 1990s. A very sad day for the UK. May she not have died in vain.

Yes, Henry's guitar solo in 'My Love' is amazingly brilliant:
