    Ladislav Kutze?

I'd participate in these more consistently but I'm garbage at guessing anymore and this is one of the few threads I don't get new notifications for any longer. It's annoying.

I don't get notifications either, as of a few weeks ago. Not sure what has gone wrong - is there a fix?

It's this, last movie you've watched and a few others in which I dont get notifications either.

And the correct answer is Moreau from SP.

    Clue Answers:

    1. At first I seem to be running things. That notion is soon clearly and dramatically dispelled...
He is leading the SPECTRE meeting until Blofeld's arrival is announced by teh opening of the massive doors.
    2. ...and then dispelled again quite tacitly.
When Blofeld calls him over to whisper instructions.
    3. Oddly, there is no indication that I am a doctor of any kind.
Odd because the most famous Moreau I can think of (along with Jeanne) is the fictional Dr. Moreau from H.G. Wells' THE ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU.
    4. My demeanor is in stark contrast to my areas of concern.
I speak of deadly things in a calm voice.
    5. In tandem with clue #3, no man is an island.
    See answer #3.
    6. There is no title before my name.
He is not referred to as Dr. or anything else.
    7. The violence I witness is later referenced by another.
Blofeld later brings up Guerra's eyes being gouged out by Mr. Hinx.
    8. I repeat what I am told to.
By Blofeld, asking if there is a challenger to Guerra.
    9. Bond sees me.
    He does.
    10. Though not my native language, my English seems to be immaculate.
    He is French.
    11. I do not die on screen, but there is reason to believe that I was killed at a later date.
He was probably killed in the mass execution of SPECTRE in NTTD.
    12. PC@R,IT
    Palazzo Cadenza in Rome, Italy.
    13. A chore remains unfinished.
    Eliminating The Pale King.

Didn't even see he had been guessed. I shall take my leave once more.

And I'm glad it's not just me. I know it was mentioned previously but haven't heard of any movement on the matter. I'll check in again and see if there's an update.

Right, let's do this (at last). EON Character:

    1. I'm a good example of someone in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there.

    2. A special relationship is my utmost concern.

    4. I am morally indifferent; the villains and the heroes really do get mixed up.

    Foreign Secretary (QOS)?
  • Tokoloshe2Tokoloshe2 Northern Ireland
    Posts: 1,172
@Birdleson does the business - it's the Foreign Secretary played by the late Tim Pigott-Smith in QOS.

    1. I'm a good example of someone in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there.

He's focused on securing the oil, but doesn't know what's really going on and or that the oil doesn't exist.

    2. A special relationship is my utmost concern.

The "Special Relationship" is a term for relations between the UK and US.

    3. I could have been talking about the next Champions League Final

"The Russians aren't playing ball"; the above event has been relocated to Paris in light of recent world events.

    4. I am morally indifferent; the villains and the heroes really do get mixed up.

He doesn't care if Greene is a villain.

I always enjoyed Pigott-Smith. That "Special Relationship" narrowed it down considerably for me. I thought that Roebuck with the Russian Minister may have been a twist on that. I have a lot of paperwork to do today, but I should be able to get the next one up tonight.

    Clues:
    1. My name is stricken, yet it is ubiquitous throughout this film series.
    2. I am unseen and, quite intentionally and emphatically, never directly referenced.
    3. I exist(ed) outside of any incarnation of the EON Universe.

I’m hoping that’s enough. It’s certainly a riddle, but everything you need is right there.
