And we have a winner! @Birdleson finally cracked it! He deserves a round of applause from everyone, as some of these clues were quite challenging.

Do you remember Karl from OP? Bond's driver that escorts him across the border to the circus?

    1) I am privy to some extremely private information.
He hears M and Bond talking about 009, Octopussy and General Orlov's plans.

    2) The destination is a part of me.
    KARL-Marx-Stadt :)

    3) Only two out of three will make it.
Only Karl and Bond travel across the border. M gets out of the car.

    4) My enthusiasm is second to none.
He's very excited to do his job.

    5) Actually, someone else from the same film (serving the same function) may have me beat.
Sadruddin was even more excited to drive Bond to the hotel earlier in the film.

    6) I'd like to switch that A with an E. Do you have any good leads?
Bond's cover is a manufacturer's representative from LEEDS.

    7) The mode of transportation is appropriate.
    A Mercedes Benz in Germany.

    8) Have you landed on any good sofas lately, 007?
Again, Bond's cover. He will be visiting furniture factories in East Germany.

    9) I end up alone.
He drops Bond off at the circus and drives away.

    10) The boss is here.
    M

    11) There is a larger, hidden danger that Bond has yet to uncover.
The plot with the atomic bomb.

    12) For millions of feet, the right shoes.
    13) Ben and Jerry?

    octopussy-movie-screencaps.com-9724.jpg?strip=all

    14) An ominous sign.
You Are Leaving The American Sector while Barry's ominous music plays.

    15) It's not very comfortable, is it?
M tells Bond he'll be on his own and Bond remarks about what a great comfort that is to know.

    16) A little grayer.
M and Bond's suits plus the interior of the car.

    17) The boss just left with someone else.
M leaves the car and gets into another one.

    18) Hey, how come no one bought me a ticket?
    To the circus.

    19) For a lark, I dressed up in disguise.
Mostly referring to Bond later on, but lark rearranged is karl.

    20) The previous clue is only partially referring to me.
    I felt I should clarify.

    21) Questioning a villain's motives.
Why would General Orlov participate in a jewelry caper?

    22) My confidence level is high.
    "No problem!"

    23) Bye-bye, Miss American Pie.
YOU ARE LEAVING THE AMERICAN SECTOR

    24) Thumbs up to you, Mr. Bond!
He gives Bond a thumbs up after he drops him off.

    25) Things change, but I remain the same.
Going from West to East Germany, day to night, but Karl remains seated in the same spot the entire time.

    26) Before my time is up, you will have caught a glimpse of what Bond will become.
We see the clown whose likeness Bond will portray later on.

    27) So much for you, Mr. Carver!
Carver's line, "So much for German efficiency." However, Karl is very efficient.

    28) A slightly more popular character from the same film (and a different one from Clue 5) also serves the same function, but in a different capacity.
Smithers also served as a driver, but his job was to tail Kamal Khan.

    29) Someone was lost.

"We verified the Octopussy Circus was in East Berlin when we lost 009."

    30) A look of concern washed over his face - Bossman Junior.
M looks very concerned as he watches Bond cross the border. Brown will always be Junior to Lee's Senior.

    31) Most of my time is cut short.
Most of his time driving Bond is not shown onscreen.

    32) I want Charles in charge of me!

Bond's cover name is Charles Moreton.

    33) Bells will be ringing for my introduction.
We can hear bells ringing at the start of the scene.

    34) Bond is reminded of his current situation.
"Remember, 007, you're on your own."

    35) To further expand on the previous clue : Where was I when he really needed me later on?
Bond could've really used Karl later on when chasing the bomb.

    36) Hold on, you're dead! Did the lost become found or is it someone else?
When we see the clown at the circus, he looks just like 009.

    37) I've asked you nineteen times to reposition them. I shan't ask you politely next time.
Reposition the letters in Clue 19 and lark = karl. ;)

    38) It's just Robert and I now.
Moore Bond's cover name in TSWLM was Robert Sterling.

    39) Verification and representation are important topics of discussion.
They verified the OP circus was in East Berlin when 009 was killed. Bond's cover is a manufacturer's representative from Leeds.

    40) Freud's id is what's needed.
"Here is the ID that you'll need." Freud was from Austria (close) and of course it's also referring to Bond's sexual drive.

    41) More, more tons!
Bond's cover name is Charles Moreton.

    42) What a man(ufacturer)!
    Manufacturer's Representative from Leeds.

    43) Bond asks for forgiveness.
"Well, the jewelry, sir, I think is, if you'll forgive the analogy, only the tip of the tentacle."

What a round! I never thought it would last that long at first, but once it got going I was hoping to break the record. Alas, Mr. Birdleson has once again proved himself to be too clever. When you guessed Sadruddin early on I thought you'd get it on the next try!

Some of you also guessed OP characters that made me sweat. Tokoloshe - you were on the right track. You certainly had a grasp for what type of character we were looking for with your last few guesses.

Thanks to all who participated. I had a blast and I hope you did as well. Again, kudos to @Birdleson for solving it. He deserves a lot of credit! Look forward to seeing what you throw at us next.
