    My apologies for not responding quicker. The last two days have been hectic.
    @Tokoloshe2 is absolutely correct! Our mystery character is indeed Dimitri, one of Zukovsky's bodyguards from GoldenEye!

    1) I actually got the better of James Bond! Or did I?
    According to James Bond Wiki, he is the person who sneaks up behind Bond and points the gun at his head. It's hard to tell as his face is covered.

    2) On the defensive.
    His arms are crossed, which is a defensive posture.

    3) PETA might have to get involved here.
    "Who's strangling the cat?" In reference to Irina's singing.

    4) I'm ecstatic that he didn't part ways with the best medicine.
    Bond tells Zukovsky that he's glad that he hasn't lost his delicate sense of humor.

    5) Click... and then click.
    Bond's gun and then Dimitri's gun.

    6) It's easy to confuse me with a more popular character from the same film.
    Defense Minister Dmitri Mishkin of course.

    7) He sure knows a lot about guns.
    Zukovsky knows the type of gun without even looking. His expertise was further explored in a deleted scene. Have you "scene" it? :)

    8) In my big moment to shine, I fumbled over my words.
    When talking about the weather.

    Zukovsky is firing his gun!

    10) I was initially ordered to give Bond some information before my boss changed his mind.
    To tell Bond how long the winters last in Russia, but then is silenced.

    Talking about the weather, but also a GoldenEye reference. No small talk?

    Bond is brave to confront Zukovsky and Valentin finally points his gun at Bond's crotch.

    Bond in Russia.

    Telling the story of how his knee aches.

    Irina is no Tammy Wynette.

    17) Bond's drink of choice was used against him.
    After Bond is thrown on the couch, Zukovsky remarks that he is shaken, not stirred.

    18) We are nothing if not courteous.
    Zukovsky wishes to extend Bond the same professional courtesy.

    Ahh...of course! I always thought there should be an animal or at least a coat with fur somewhere. I forgot this line about the cat, because I watched the movie more often in german. Bond asks in the german version “When does the lady learn to sing?“
