Steve Coogan as Q, or M. Theo James as Q. Depends on the tone.

I'd rather have Coogan as a villain.

If we don't hear the name of a director soon I think it goes without saying 2027 is too optimistic.

I'd love to see B26 come out in 2027, But both Pascal and Heyman are also busy with Harry Potter and Spiderman. So 2028 is also very likely.

Definitely depressing, why can't we see the barebones of a creatively team, and then they can take as long as they need? :-?

Because it takes longer than to set up a creative team then you think. Also, I imagine that Amazon doesn't want to repeat Lucasfilm's Star Wars mistakes, announcing things without a locked down plan. At least we have experienced producers, and the rest of the creative team will slowly follow.

When I read Grant I thought you guys were talking about Richard E. Grant and I thought that would be a fine choice.

That's only because we're used to picturing the Bond of the past. I think the character will be an evolved version.

I'd say he lacks those powerful characteristics to make a formidable villain. He's great though - I watched The Penguin Lessons the other day.

Trump has announced his plan for 100% tariffs on movies made overseas. If this comes to pass it may well affect the production of B26.

Apparently films made abroad are a ‘national security threat’. I think we’ll have to see if it does happen or not though, or indeed precisely what he means by it, but it seems another random idea thrown out without consultation and I can imagine the industry, not least Bezos himself, pointing out the harm this would do.

Yeah, I think that’s likely. It’s very worrying he’s decided to take aim at this issue though.

Anthony Mackie blamed China for bad movies. Now we will be able to know if it is true :D

    It's not going to happen.

What does produced in "Foreign Lands" even mean? If Bond is produced by Amazon, then it is American, no?

I suspect Ms Pascal and Mr Heyman have been on the phone all day trying to get answers to that question and many more.

Does he mean Marvel films filmed in London or an actual foreign film like Parasite?

Either way is risible, imo. I always considered cultural enrichment a positive thing, but who am I, right?

Trump is a ****ing idiot, and I’m not sorry if that upsets any snowflakes in this forum.

Yes, not exactly sure how this will play out in practice, as seems to be the case with many of Trump's policies. Very annoying for the producers though I imagine at the current time.

Truly foreign films are no competition for Hollywood. He's clearly referring to fake foreign films.

I dunno. He played a chilling Jimmy Saville, or so I've read. I'm not sure I can stomach the whole series, but the scenes I saw jn YouTube were more powerful and scary than many horror movies.

It also doesn't solve the issue of American films choosing to go abroad because it's cheaper than renting a lot in LA, so I'm not sure what he thinks a tariff will achieve.

He used to be TV star of a reality show that made him even more of a household name than he already was 20 years ago, and now feels betrayed by Hollywood because he’s an easy target for ridicule. This is just him throwing a temper tantrum because he’s always been a little bitch.
