CR was not a improvement over DAD. CR was a melodramatic DAD. CR is not a serious film, or an entertaining one at that.

Exactly! I think everyone wants to know that. If its meant to be ironic it isn't.

No, Barbara Broccoli hater. But Craig isn't exactly amazing either. But if I did hate Craig, why is that a problem? Am I not allowed to dislike an actor?

It's to remind me how much I hate him.

Although I think DUD is the worst film (any film) ever made, I kind of agree with you about CR. I think it's been over-hyped. I quite like Craig, although he needs to lighten up a bit, but CR IMO was plodding and dull. There were some nice scenes and I thought Vesper was good, but overall it didn't deliver. For me QoS was actually an improvement on some levels - faster paced and with some more obviously Bondian touches, such as the opera scene.

    Disagreed.

Craig is - IMO - one of the best Bonds ever and certainly the right Bond for this day and age. Of course, if one doesn't like Craig, that's fine but calling CR a melodramatic DAD feels miles away from the truth.

Also, a Barbara Broccoli hater? Sound rather strong, wouldn't you say? ;-)

He had one more in him yes, but sometimes I'm glad it never happened.

Brozza could have kept on pain-facing his way through Bond movies for another 20 years given a chance.

It's funny, because that's the same feeling I have for Casino Royale.

I suppose DUD is at least so bad it makes an impact, whereas CR was just a bit bland.

I think even he knew, he had to stay for less time than Moore did. I believe he wanted another film in 2005 and then one final one in 2007. By then he would have been 54 which is old enough for Bond in my opinion.

He should have looked after himself a bit better then. He looked like a fat bloated business exec by the time of DUD.

    As did Sean in DAF

True. I am not a big fan of DAF either.

If Brosnan was to come back 12 years after leaving for an unofficial film, like Connery did, it would be in 2014 and may go against Bond 24.

    Would Brosnan's Bond, completely flop?

Not gonna happen now that the whole McGrory (whatever his name is) saga is over.

Probably not, actually. The general public seemed to love Brosnan's Bond.

I prefer Brosnan make "Remington Steele the movie" after DAD...

While Brozza isn't as popular as he once was I still think he has the mass appeal to draw in audiences. Look at Mamma Mia for instance. Don't forget he's still well liked and - dare I say it - I still like him a bit too.

John Gardner's books were never adapted. And I don't think EON holds the rights to them either. I could see Brosnan coming back to do Licence Renewed.

Not gonna happen either as (I believe) the film Bond is a trademarked/copyrighted/otherwise unavailable.

Of course not, I just thought it may be worth discussing, this what-if.

A 61 year old Bond would be quite something, the film would take money but would Brosnan demand a really good script this time?
If he couldn't get a good script out of EON in ten years can't see him doing it now.

Roger was about to drop dead in AVTAK so Brozza at 61 wouldn't be all that ridiculous.

No, it wouldn't totally bomb. But it also wouldn't be a big thing in the way Connery's return was. Everybody wanted to see that, the real James Bond coming back. A return of Brosnan would just be that, Brosnan once more. Fans of Brosnan and Bond would see it if only for curiosity's sake. But the larger audience would not care the way the did in 1983.

Plus Sean got a rather gorgeous Bond girl in NSNA.

Yeah, they could make it about something in M's past coming back to haunt her...
