    Wow! Not much to separate these wonderful nominated songs! I am being handed the envelope! The winner of best song in a Bond Film is....GOLDFINGER by Dame Shirley Bassey!

    The voting reveals the following:

    NDIB received 6 votes in our tiebreaker

    Excellent round and a hearty congratulations to our academy. This feathered member is tickled gold with the winner!

    Now we head back to the murky waters of awarding a Klebbie! I am delighted to report that an academy member has put these up for nomination! @R1s1ngs0n has provided us with worst Pre-Title Sequence! The nominees are:
    • Bond makes mud pies in DAF
    • Blofeld offers a delicatessen in stainless steel in FYEO
    • Bond is saved by the bell in DAD
    • Bond has valuable property in the boot in QOS
    • Our man in Hong Kong gets assassinated in YOLT

    Anyway, I go YOLT. Nothing in it really makes sense.

    I actually enjoy the other 4 nominees though none of them are among my favorites.

    I actually quite like the QOS and DAD Pre-Title Sequences :-$

    My pick is YOLT. As @ProfJoeButcher said, it really doesn't make any sense.

    Bond makes mud pies in DAF... and just like that, the legacy of OHMSS is spat on. It will take until TSWLM for Bond to hint at the loss of Tracy.

    Am I reading correctly that QOS is on this list? I'd say it is one of the best. Might even be the very best. But anyway, I'm going for DAF.

    I am honored! I actually replaced YOLT with LALD but I guess you already read my message and set up the nominees.
    Anyway, if my vote counts then I pick QoS - I only remember a long boring car chase.
    Close second is DAF - my god, what a gigantic waste of opportunity.

    I'm kind of surprised LALD isn't on the list, bearing in mind Bond isn't even in it (Golden Gun's one at least tells a story, is reprised for the climax, and sort of sets up Scaramanga as the anti-Bond of the film).

    Anyway, DAF's one is pretty naff, has crap sets, unexciting action, pretty bad dialogue and Bond strangling the woman to get information out of her hasn't dated well.

    FYEO's is great. No idea why that's on the list..?

    DAD's is probably Brosnan's worst pre-titles but it's not awful.

    QoS is badly edited and the chase just suddenly ends rather than building up to any sort of dramatic crescendo so I guess it's one of the least good ones.

    YOLT's has the whole space capsule theft bit, which is both tense and beautiful thanks to the music. And Bond's death is a great snappy little scene. Nah, not much wrong with that.


    So my vote would most certainly go to LALD. But as is it can't, it's DAF all the way.

    I am glad to have you apart of the esteemed academy! I made a small change as I wanted Bond to actually appear in all the nominees. So I removed LALD and picked YOLT.
